Anderson, Carrick, Giggs and Scholes are not ball winners or enforcers. Each of our first team midfielders have attributes that in unique which makes up the options we have. With Hargreaves injured we've not had a proper ball winner in the team for donks, and in these games we need one. What i would give to have a Scott Parker right now.

and Moon, Messi isn't the real threat, Iniesta and Xavi are. Stopping them stops them getting the ball to Messi.

That's why we have to alter our midfield, we pressurise them and force them into mistakes and the defence or wingers clean up.

We don't just chuck in a kid for our biggest game of the season and his first ever appearance, it's absurd.

If Fleth is unavailable then im sure fergie will play Valencia Carrick Park Giggs Rooney in a 5 with Park chasing down Xavi. And Hernandez up top.

But i would still take the lad. Im not expecting him to create, score goals etc. I know if he was that on the pitch he'll be up their ****s and running around like an headless chicken. He has the mentality and the tackling ability to do it.

What if Tunnicliffe stands out in training everyday and isn't far behind in terms of fitness? And is only been held back because of our FAYC campaign which is important to United.

'IF' the lad is good enough then why not unleash him if we need him.

Look, I'm not for one second denying you've probably seen a lot more of him than I have, but it's a common sense case.

It's crazy to think it and it's unlikely to happen. But i wouldn't 100% rule it out because he gets around the pitch so well for his age. Gets from A to B quicker than a normal 18 year old in the academy. He's commited, loves a tackle and he wants it.

The funny thing is i wouldn't want him in the team if we was the better team on paper. It's the fact we're not and we need players who can stop them rather than them stopping us.

I would 100% rule it out. This midfield problem has been like this for over a year, so why wouldn't he risk him in any other game but would in a Champions League final?

Because majority of the time we're the best team on paper. Teams need to worry about how to stop us rather than us stopping them. And you're missing my point. I was saying if we don't have Fletcher, who chases down alot. I was putting the question there for people who have seen Tunnicliffe play. Wether he could make a contribution.

The best person to know if he is ready for a CL final against Barca is Fergie and unless we see him atleast as a sub in the reminder of the league games, there is no chance of him even making the bench..... Agree he could be the kind of player we need but it would be suicidal to put him on the pitch in a CL final against Barca in front of the Wembley crowd... he will be lost....

I like the idea of man marking Messi with Fabio though ..... but if we have Park and Fletcher, I guess it will be on their shoulders to stop Xavi and Iniesta...

Sorry but there is absolutely no chance of him even making the bench in CL final IF we get through unless there is a massive injury crisis. He has done very well this season but with no experience whatsoever in competitive games domestically, there is no chance he'll play in a competitive European game.

Definitely has the potential to be moulded into a Keane type player, engine room of the team....

Hope we see him in the last game of the season (if the titles won)

Very much doubt we will see him this year though...

We needed more power and someone to win the ball in middle like i expect. So even though you laugh, i still think he could of contributed.

Seems like the loan deal is locked in, good move for the kid, huge step up. He wont be able to physically dominate in the Championship like he did in the reserves, will be good for him.

Perfect move for him, I think he'll do excellently in the Championship. It'll suit his game.

Peterborough United Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Manchester United midfielder Ryan Tunnicliffe on a six-month loan deal. The highly-rated 19-year-old will fly out to Portugal with the rest of the squad on Sunday.

The football club can also confirm that Manchester United defender Scott Wootton has been given permission to travel and train in Portugal by the Red Devils with the intention of signing him at the end of July.

Manager Darren Ferguson said: 'Ryan is obviously an up and coming player at Manchester United. He was very inspirational in helping to win the FA Youth Cup.

'He has a very good pedigree and we feel that he is ready to step up and play in the Championship. He is a tenacoious, box-to-box midfielder and this move works well for him and obviously works very well for us.

'I am delighted to have him on board and look forward to working with him,' Ferguson said.
