I van see Ryan getting frustrated from not playing but I wouldn't read to much into it. Look at Cleverly, he had a similar loan spell. He then went on to perform great at Watford and later Wigan. Ryan is still young and if he keeps on grinding he'll get his chances.

the problem will be if he does not play enough and prove .. he has two players are who are straight forward rivals for that midfield positions .. Morrison and Pogba... these two are already a mile ahead interms of choice for the first team .. so he would be desperate to play and improve

It's hard to imagine all of them in first XI but they're not interchangeable. And the choice will depend on playing model in particular game - Tunnicliffe is box-to-box, Morrison can play behind forward, Pogba plays in holding midfielder position.

That's a very black and white way of seeing things as all three of them are different types of players. Maybe Ryan and Pogba can be compared but that's still stretching it a bit.

2-3 years ago no one would've tipped Cleverly to be a key player and start in front of Carrick, Anderson and Fletcher. These players are still young and a lot can change during their development.

maybe Nox would have, I do remember him recommending the lad and check out Owenzy's post on the first page also believing he could make it.

A decent second-half performance for Tunners this afternoon. He came on at half time for Peterborough, away at Leicester City. Initially he was on the right wing, to do a defensive job on Leicester's ex-Liverpool left back, Paul Konchesky. After 15 minutes, another Boro player went off, so Ryan moved in to the centre of the park and helped regain some of the possession that Darren Ferguson's side were missing in the first half. He could do nothing about Leicester grabbing the lead, but Tunnicliffe helped maintain possession, played some intelligent passes, battled well for the ball, and didn't look at all outmuscled against experienced Leicester midfielders Richie Wellens (ex-United!) and Andy King.

Still young, Tunnicliffe looks talented, and as I've mentioned in the past, there's a bit of Rooney / Roy Keane fire lurking below the surface. He gave the ref an earful as one decision went against Peterborough. But for the most part, I think he completed most of his passes and seemed to have good presence, making his team look a better unit to grab the draw at the King Power Stadium.

He can certainly emerge as a serious option for us in couple of seasons from now...

Posh extend Tunnicliffe deal | Manchester United News, Fixtures, Results, Transfers | Sky Sports

Peterborough United have extended the loan deal of Manchester United teenager Ryan Tunnicliffe until the end of February.

Tunnicliffe has made 24 appearances for Posh since joining from United last summer and has recently recovered from injury and illness.

His initial loan expired after Monday's 1-1 draw with Birmingham City, but a deal has been agreed for the midfielder to remain at London Road.

As the arrangement is a youth loan, all three parties can agree to a further extension at any point for Tunnicliffe, who has yet to make his Red Devils debut.

The 19-year-old has been given permission to play in Peterborough's FA Cup third round tie against Sunderlandon Sunday, along with Scott Wootton, who is also on loan at Posh from the Premier League club.

    Good for him!

Good call to stay there as well as he is more or less certain to get games. If he improves, there's a good chance a PL team may come in for him next season. That would be an amazing development.

Cleverley came back a better player, as did Welbeck. Tunnicliffe is younger and right now isn't even close to ready.

Have to agree. Definitely a quiet one for Tunners but he certainly isn't afraid to get stuck in and the physical make-up he has already at his age is astonishing. The technical part of his game is still raw but I'm confident it'll become more polished the more he plays at Championship level. Certainly potential there.

However, I was more impressed by Scott Wootton. Maybe I'm being a bit biased but I felt he was probably the best player on the pitch in the first half. He's got great feet, very good in the air and he was spraying tidy short passes around for fun. Simply oozed class against a very experienced Sunderland midfield save for one ugly pass at the start of the game..and he wasn't even playing his natural position! His form dropped a bit second half before he was taken off but damn, he really caught my eye and I'm excited to hopefully see what he can do in a red shirt after his loan spell ends. Great prospect.

For the record, it was my first time seeing either player in action at any level..

any one thinks he will be ready for first team with UTD next season ... the on going saga of Pogba and Morrison makes me believe this guy could be a better bet for us instead....

always think the same..some of the fans are too obsessed with Morrison and Pogba yet ignored some of the youngsters that coming through the ranks..ok,they may not be as talented as both players but we never know what their future lies with us until they got their chances and impress..take Cleverley for example..no one expected that he would become such an important player to us this season..
