Also, a lot of things can be said about Pogba but I do belive that there must have been some issues with his attitude during the season, maybe not as bad as Morrison but enough to make Fergie exclude him from the first team.

I don't know about Powell but both Petrucci and Tunners seems like grounded lads which is something that Fergie generally appreciates. Something that will benefit them greatly in getting first team chances.

absolutely right ... remember Fergie even grounded Welbeck after his arrogant celebration after his first goal for UTD.... the likes of Morrison and Pogba may have been beyond his mentoring powers else he would never have let them go ... Petrucci and Tunners surely can take courage from Cleverly and Welbeck the way they made it to first team .... three midfield prospects (Powell included) augers well for the future though and with Keane brothers offering promising options at either end of the pitch it is really exciting times for the UTD fans in terms of what to look forward to

Is this guy genuinely good enough to one day start for us? He seems to be the only box to box midfielder at the club bar Fletch

Manchester United youngster Ryan Tunnicliffe says even training with the first team is an amazing experience, let alone playing for the English giants on their tour of South Africa.

The Red Devils youth graduate featured in both matches of the SA leg of their pre-season travels, impressing in the 1-0 win over AmaZulu and the tight 1-1 draw against Ajax Cape Town on Saturday.

The 19-year-old has been able to benefit from playing alongside veteran team-mates Paul Scholes and Rio Ferdinand, and he can't imagine a better environment in which to further his talents.

"The tour has been really good from a personal point of view. Just being able to train with the first team is a great experience, but to have been able to get some game-time in as well has been even better for me," he told his club's official website.

"I was pleased to play a part in the opening win over AmaZulu FC and get my first United appearance under my belt and it was good to get another half hour in against Ajax Cape Town."

The Urban Warriors put on a fierce display at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday, and after missing numerous chances eventually took the lead late on through Alcardo van Graan, but in "typical United" style the visitors hit back in the dying seconds of injury time through Bebe.

"The way we came back in that second game to snatch a draw was typical United," Tunnicliffe added. "We played okay but they started to dominate as the game went on and got the goal.

"But I think that fired us up for the final few minutes and we pushed hard to try and get the equaliser which we did thankfully.

"I've already learnt so much from the first week on tour. The stand-out thing is the professionalism and the preparation in the first team. If you don't prepare properly for games you're not going to play well.

"You also need to make sure you eat well and get your rest when you need it. The likes of Scholesy, Carras [Michael Carrick] and Rio [Ferdinand] have all been here for so long and achieved so much because they do the right things to prepare for games. It's important to look at them and try and emulate what they do.

"The senior lads in the first team are great - they talk to us a lot and are always there to offer us advice, but for me being able to train alongside Paul Scholes has been fantastic. He's one of the best midfielders ever to learn from."

I think he played within himself on the S.A tour. I have full confidence in him playing for the 1st team next season. Having him in midfield would be like playing with 2 Rooney's in terms of workrate.

Obviously Morrison and Pogba got most of the hype, but truth be told, Ryan was as good, if not better than them in that run in the Fa youth cup. I've got high hopes for the lad. If we don't get him cover in midfield, i'd love it if fergie had him as 2nd choice.

Was very impressed with his performance of the bench today. We don't have many genuine ball winners, but he seems like he could potentially fill a void in central midfield.

Do people think he will be staying with us next year or will he be going out on loan?

I think he should stay. I think he could be our next big thing at a very young age. He showed confidence with his long range shots and he wont he ball very well. I think he could be a perfect defensive mid. He is also extremely confident in his ability which is something I like about him a lot. I think if we keep him and play him in cup games and against weaker teams when we have the advantage, he could become a key player for us very quick.

i'd rather send him on loan spell, to give him more game time, another 6 months to Peterborough again maybe?

I think it depends on how Fergie is going to use the squad. If he still feels Scholes and Giggs will play regularly and the possibility of a fit Anderson and Cleverley Fergie may fell he has enough options for the defensive/central midfield then a loan would benefit the player more.

But in Tunnicliffe we have a player who's young, hungry, seems to have his head screwed on correctly and English. I would be happy to keep him in the first team, as long as he got opportunities in the Carling cup and some league experience.

Do agree with you but I feel that we need him to stay around the first team during the first half and see how it goes in the few games he gets to play. If he grabs his chance we could have ourselves a hungry box to box ,homegrown midfielder. Fletcher MKll .

He has a very nice touch for a combative player, did quite well today, I'd like to see a loan to a bigger Championship club than Peterborough where he'd start

Yeah, just like they were for Ravel, Pogba and Fryers. Not going to get my hopes up any more. I really hope he is in the first team squad or gets a PL loan this season. But I am not expecting it, more so I expect media reports will start talking about contract issues.
