Will Keane is United's Academy "second striker", providing the links between midfield and his striking partner, John Cofie. There's a wisdom beyond his years in the way he plays, and dare I compare him to Teddy Sheringham so early in his career? Having seen him play live at Barnsley, I was impressed by his movement and involvement in much of United's build-up play. Keane was frequently praised by his manager Paul McGuinness, who often called out his name from the sidelines.

His non-identical twin, Michael, is also a United Academy player, although not often in the squad. I understand he is playing school football at the moment, as Tom Thorpe, Reece Brown (and now Alberto Massacci) are ahead of him in the pecking order for the right-back spot.

A very inteligent player. Reminds me of Sheringham a lot. Despite the hattrick today I don't see him as a great goalscorer but definitely someone who could make the first team.

I was expecting a "next Robbie Keane" tag to be stuck on him but I've opened the thread to find that he's not Irish. Shocking.

Good to see all these strikers coming through!

He has a very similar playing style to Teddy Sheringham, and in my eyes is one of, if not the most, inteligent players in our current youth ranks.

Player of the month in Oct and banging the goals in November. I have to admit, I have barely seen anything of him since my MUTV got taken away :(
He seems to have huge potential though.

He is by far the most intelligent player in our ranks. His ability to find space is unbelievable, he also holds the ball up and then brings others into play. I love how patient he is, he waits for his chances and he sure takes them! Good to see his lethal finishing of late, as at the start of the season he wasn't noticed as much because he lacked goals. Can't wait to see Cofie and him back in action again.

I think these people saying he has a "huge future" and "definitely will be a first teamer" need to calm down a bit. He is in great form and his inteligence is a step above the rest, but he is still only at academy level and there is no telling how he will turn out.

I hope he does make it though, he has a lovely playing style, similar to Teddy Sheringham as I said in an earlier post.

Keane has just come on as a sub in the match against Hull City. Can he translate his Academy scoring form of this season into a strong last half hour for the Reserves?
