Parker is the most overrated player I've ever seen. It's getting silly now.

Mata, Ba and Valencia are unlucky to miss out. Not that it matters because Van Persie is certain to win.

Van Persie deserves it in my eyes. He has played well, got some vital goals and led by example from the front. Top player.

Bannan has turned it around and having a good season. Moses is certainly having a good season and would be going to the Euros if he played for a top 6 club.

His performance against Milan whether it was one of the best or one of the worst is irrelevant since it's an award for the league.

Wtf is Parker doing on that list? Kompany Toure and Carrick have done far more, also where the f**k is Evans, I love the Ox but he hasn't played enough to merit being on the shortlist, the age for YPOY should be lowered as well, isn't Aguero 24?

He's still 23 but I agree it should be lowered. It should be 21 and younger from the start of the season.

He's a very good player. He has made a huge difference to Spurs. I just don't think he's been better than Carrick, that's my only beef with him.

As for the age thing, I think 23 is fine. Not many players under the age of 21 are playing regularly for teams. Most are making the breakthrough at 19/20.

i'd cut the age by 1... I think it should be lowered but not drastically.

I don't rate him. Sorry but I don't see him as the "saviour of English football" as the media would have you believe.

It gives the chance to credit those who have broken through. Outside the top 7/8 the other teams are littered with great young players, but as long as the age limit is as it is, then it should be used properly. Mata, Balotelli and Evans left out for AOC is diabolical.

I think once you've been nominated for "Player of the year" one time - you should then be disqualified for "young player" in the future.

I always thought aguero was a little older than he is. Very good player. Van Persie without question deserves to be the winner and I would not be suprised if Bale wins the young player award. He has had a good season at spurs. Silva definately deserves a nomination.

I also agree with abo that oxaide is englands best natural talent we have seen perform since rooney. What he'll do and how he'll develop is another thing, but in terms of raw talent, awesome.

RVP and Bale.....maybe Rooney can even snatch it right in front of RVP.
