about two thirds of the way thru Wet... and i must say, for what you would consider to be a second rate budget game, there really really is some great idea's introduced to the gameplay. The whole grindhouse pulp fiction (not the film, the genre) style is done perfectly, and i just find myself playing it with a smile on my face... there are parts that feel broken and rushed though, and visually it looks last gen, but its fun and 'cool', and you could probably pick it up for £10... well worth it

I completed the advanced levels in Portal yesterday. Quite easy tbh.

@ Clambuster, have you played Stranglehold? If not, check it out. John Woo had a hand in it so you'll see plenty of his signature style, i.e over the top violence, shootout scenes and doves lol. Apparently WET copies a lot of things from it which is why I never bothered with it.

its on the shelf at blockbuster for a £4.25 7 night rental... so ill take your advice and put it on my list as im fully aware of stranglehold being a sought of sequel to 'the best action movie of all time' Hard Boiled... but ive just never found anyone who's actually played it

ps. ive kinda got a passion for b-list 7/10 games... i think it stems from growing up with b-list horror movies and trashy sci-fi shows

also, im HARDCORE stuck on the very final puzzle in advanced chamber 17 on Portal...

RE Portal: That's the one with the companion ball, right?

If you need a hand, send me a chat invite on xbl and i'll guide you through it. Or if you'd rather do it yourself, that's cool.

btw, i'm playing the first Bad company online for the time being so if you decide to venture online gimmie a shout and we can party up. :)

is it 16 or 17... not sure now. but here goes:

there are two switches in the top corners of this one room... you have to fire a portal above one switch and go to the other one... you activate the switch, jump off the ledge firing a portal downwards, coming out at the other switch, activate it... then very quickly turn and fire a portal at a wall where the ball is gonna come from, and instantly fire a portal downwards to where the ball is gonna go thru... and fingers crossed, if youve done it all quick enough, the ball will fly past the two now open doors, into the junction, and activate the lift to the finish...

i know how to do it, but the timing has to be PRECISE! and its just proving to be a REAL stumbling block at the moment... and yes, i do keep coming back to it every now and then for another go...

ps. im not really an online gamer... one day though (apart from dj hero)

    Yeah, I think that's chamber 16.

By the sounds of things you're doing it the right way so I don't know why you're struggling for time. Maybe change the sensitivity up? I have mine set almost full so I can turn and fire quickly in portal and any game really.

    That's a shame. :(

i think sensitivity is the issue... and i have it turned down because with Valve orginally being a PC developer, when you max out the sensitivity, for me, it just becomes unuseable... but i would agree that to overcome this particulay hurdle it will need to be turned up...

I bought Fahrenheit for the original xbox the other day seeing as it's backwards compatible on the 360. It's so engaging and unlike anything i've ever played (well it was until the same devs released Heavy Rain). I already owned the pc version but never got the chance to complete it as it wasn't compatible with my new pc.

I haven't played any of the dlc for ME 2 either. I don't know whether to buy it as it comes out or wait for the inevitable game of the year edition which will probably work out cheaper!

i remember trying to get everybody i know to play fahrenheit when it came out... which they didnt. their loss...

the 'overlord' dlc for ME2 is spot on... kasumi 'the thief' is real short, but she is the final piece of the 'dirty dozen' so i just felt like i had too

pure 'renegade' till the end... you know i gave up the schematics to the illusive man. its all about the bigger picture...

ps. Dantes Inferno is F*CKIN HARD!!!

Top notch apps haggs, I have them too.

Clambuster, can you reccomend some good '360 games for me again?

I don't want another racing game, and I don't want a first person shooter either, maybe some sort of rpg, but I don't know

    RPG:

Mass Effect 1 & Mass Effect 2 (ME2 is this generations best game)
Fable 2 (Fable 3 is out in a couple of months, so it might be worth waiting for that)
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (XBLA)

    Action/Adventure:

    Alan Wake
    Bayonetta
    Bioshock
    Dead Space

    Shooters:

    Gears (not fps)
    Halo
    Left 4 Dead

    Arcade:

    Braid
    Limbo
    Portal
    Trials HD
    Splosion Man

But, i suppose if i really had to say, it would be a toss up between Mass Effect 2 and Alan Wake... be warned tho, if you decide to play ME2 it will be best if you play ME1. Bioware when they announced ME announced it as a triolgy. so its not like they had success with a game then decided on a sequel, ME 1,2&3 will be collectively one big saga that was the developers original vision (plus your save's and decisions all import to the next game). you can play ME2 stand alone, but if your a purist then ME1 should be first. and just to add, ME2 is a far better game than ME1, but ME1 is still better than 95% of games out there, its just that ME2 is just such a f*ckin masterpiece. plenty of action, and plenty of rpg...

I like to have two save files, one paragon and one renegade. It's interesting to see how your decisions affect the outcome of the story and others around you. I need to play over both ME 1 and 2 twice each as I lost all my data somehow!

btw, who is your favourite recruit in ME 2?
