I think this is one of the major reasons he's started pulling money out of his arse. RVP is a special player but if Arsenal don't start challenging for titles he would obviously be tempted to leave. However, Wenger isn't stupid and RVP is a great player to build a team around. As he only needs a couple of small (yet expensive) adjustments to have a great squad it would be daft not having a go at creating a new well balenced Arse squad. In that case, RVP would be important for this team the same way Henry was for the last one. Being the role model and at the same time leading the line, inspiring the rest of the squad and scoring the goals.
