Tbh I really do disagree with you there. He may not set the place on fire, put you know he'll put in an assured performance and won't let you down. obviously, there are other right backs out there in the league who you could argue are better, but this is my team, so my decision lol!

Mine would look something like this.

    Goalkeeper - Hugo Lloris (Lyon)

    Right Fullback - Maicon (Inter)
Center Back - Mamadou Sakho (Paris SG)
Center Back - Vincent Kompany (Man City)
Left Fullback - Philipp Lahm (Bayern Munich)

Central Midfielder - Scott Parker (Tottenham)
Central Midfielder - Claudio Marchisio (Juventus)
Attacking Midfielder - Mario Gotze (Dortmund)

Right Winger - Lionel Messi (Barcelona)
Left Winger - Christiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid)
Striker - Wayne Rooney (Man United)

    Okay, here goes.

    GK - Buffon (Juventus)
    RB: Lahm (Bayern Munich)
CB: Vidic (You need to ask?)
    CB: Kompany (them)
    LB: Nagatomo (Inter)
    CM: Modric (Spurs)
    CM: Martinez (Bilbao)
    AM: Hazard (Lille)
    RWF: Messi (Barca)
    CF: Ibrahimovic (Milan)
    LWF: Ronaldo (Real)

There, I think that does it.

He's not necessarily suggesting Nagatomo is the best left back in the world, but the best left back available after running out of clubs. That's why I started this thread, because it's easy to give your best World XI, but its way more interesting to see how much you value each individual position, and who plays there.

There are far better leftbacks available from teams he hasn't picked though

Personally I've been impressed with him from what I've seen of Inter this season. I considered cheating and putting Bale in as LB but Modric was a must.

Vorm is one of the most in form goalkeepers in world football.

Enrique is one of the most complete left backs around. I'd have him ahead of Evra and Cole and Alba. I can't pick Marcelo or Abidal.

Agreed regarding Vorm. He has been a wall this season. Imagine the plight of van Marwijk. He has to pick one among Vorm, Krul and Stekelenberg

Fair enough, I reckon Vorm is pretty sound not sure I would put him my World XI though, Enrique is a tank now that I think about it.

    Lloris
    Alves Kompany Vidic Baines
    Robben Lampard Wilshere Bale
    Suarez*
    Cavani
    * Yes, the racist one. I decided to put that aside for a second and think about him as a footballer, he is a real talent after all. He can use his eel-like agility and movement to scare defenders and attract them to free Cavani. I think a second striker role would be better because his finishing seems to have taken a real dent recently.
You would think Cavani and Suarez would link and communicate well (as they have done at national level) because of their roots.
