Owen will be a United great

According to Wes Brown, new signing Michael Owen will prove himself to be a United great after making a goalscoring start to his United career.

Two goals in his first two games is just a sign of things to come according to the right back.

“It’s a good start for him,” Brown told the M.E.N. “I think it is a great signing for us. I knew him when we were younger and you know what he can do.”

“It says it on his record – he is going to be a tremendous signing for us. He scores goals and with the chances he will provided with us, I am sure he will do that.”

Brown also insists further investment in the squad isn’t necessary, because we’ve already got the quality to win number 18, which would be an unprecedented 4 in a row.

“We’ve got the squad with players who have done it many times and we’ve got the younger players coming in who did well last season.”

  1. I certainly hope so. The initial signs are promising. He WILL get us goals…while he stays fit. His fitness is the key. If he can avoid serious injury he could be a brilliant player for us but there will always be that niggling worry that he’ll miss much of the season through injury.

  2. At first the Owen signing came as a surprise due to the fact that he played poorly for Newcastle (who are now relegated) but after listening to his proclamations and seeing him score i am convinced he can be a reshaped “ruud”
