Possebon to be sent home after just 34 minutes of football!

posted on 04/09/09

Rodrigo Possebon is facing being sent back to United, two months into his season long loan to Sporting Braga, after playing just 34 minutes!

The Brazilian midfielders only appearance was in a Europa League qualifier against Elfsborg of Sweden. He was substituted after 34 minutes as the team slumped to a 2-0 defeat, and the manager Domingos Paciência has apparently made it clear that Possebon is no longer in his plans. Braga have reportedly spoken to United about sending him back.

It will come as a disappointment to both the player and United. He made some impressive appearances in the Carling Cup last season and looked to be a good prospect for the future, but a horror challenge from Emmanuel Pogatetz ended his season and he has struggled ever since.

It’s hard to understand how a manager can make such a judgement after just 34 minutes on the pitch, but Possebon needs to shrug this off and focus on playing well for the reserves if he does indeed return to United in the near future.

  2. its a shame that. he looks like a good prospect and the first team experience would have been good for him.
