Rooney snaps up another award

After a devastating run of games of late, where Wayne Rooney really showed his talents, he has been awarded the PFA Fans’ Player of the Month award for January.
In the last month Rooney’s been in arguably the best form of his United career putting in some sensational shifts helping United push for further honours.
Already on a total of 22 goals this season thus far, Rooney will be hoping to break the 30 barrier after critics of past seasons bemoaned his lack of goals. He’s on the right track to keeping them quiet.
After netting 4 goals against Hull City, Rooney commented;
I’ve never really scored that many goals from inside the six-yard box over the years but I’ve been working on that – and thankfully it’s starting to pay off.
His team mate, Ryan Giggs also noted Rooney’s phenomenal season at United saying,
His appetite is strong and he is a great player to have in your team. Even if he is not playing well he still causes problems for the other team, That is a very rare quality,
added Giggs.
He believes he is going to create chances. He believes he will get them and he believes he is going to score goals. More often than not, he does.
There are football fans across England hoping Rooney will also be offered the captains armband for the National side for the up-coming World Cup after recent events surrounding current England & Chelsea captain, John Terry.
Would you want to see Rooney burdened with the responsibility or should he ‘just be allowed to play’ as Mark Lawrenson put it earlier this week?
