Valencia boss: We’re not scared of United

Valencia boss Unai Emery (I didn’t make that up, it’s his real name, honest) says his side are not scared of any of our players.

His team play United at Old Trafford tomorrow and he thinks with the players he has at his disposal, they can beat anybody, including the English champions.

“United have lost Ronaldo and Tevez and we’re not scared of any of their players,” he told the Daily Star.

It’s strange that he considers us weaker for having lost Tevez. Ronaldo I can understand. Any team losing the best player in the world could be weaker as a result, but it’s not like Tevez was prolific for us. Five league goals last season is all he could muster. Even Michael Owen at relegated Newcastle scored more than that, despite playing far less games.

He did however reserve complimentary words for United legend Ryan Giggs and future legend Wayne Rooney.

“Of course, they are still a strong team and we are respectful towards the likes of Wayne Rooney and Ryan Giggs. But we are Valencia and can beat anyone.”
