I think we need another quality midfielder and striker, although im not sure about Torres, his scoring record in spain isnt that great

I agree, i think carrick is ok but after that we have o'shea and fletcher who at the moment are backup quality at best and never going to challegne for a first team spot.

I would like hargreaves to join, cant seem that happening until the summer though, and perhaps another creative midfielder to replace scholes over the next year or two

I dont think carrick has been that bad, i think he has done a steady job.
