Whatever it'll be i imagine it to be a very good balance all over the pitch. Two defencive players in Carrick and Hargreaves in the middle with the option of pairing either with Scholes. Then many attacking wingers to pick from and a solid defence.

4-4-2 i'd expect with Tevez (hopefully) and Rooney leading the line upfront.

rooney tevez

giggs hargreaves scholes ronaldo

evra vidic ferdinand neville

van der sar

this would be my main team carrick could replace hargreaves if injured the same with anderson for scholes and nani for giggs-poor form could force sir alex to make these changes also.;)
any funny 451-433-4231 formations give me a headache and are too speculative for me to comment on:confused:

I actually think that next year we will definately be playing the 4-2-3-1 formation which fergie used towards the end of the season. I'd expect something like this:
Van der sar

DEF: Neville Rio Vidic Evra

MF: Carrick Hargreaves

Ronaldo Scholes Rooney/Tevez

ST: Tevez/Rooney

I think that Giggs and Scholes will be used more for champions league as 2 games a week might be getting too much for them, and Nani and Anderson are for future.

yea ive heard about this formation but it sacrifices an attacker for a second defensive midfielder.
who knows what he'll do but i would so go with the team and formation that i posted before. last season we played so well, if we change it too much it could go tits up.

I remember the fans a few seasons ago chanting 442 442 442, after an unsucessful spell of using a 451/433 formation, remember that ?
And the 442 team i put in my last post is our strongest.:D

my team as you can see from above is the same as last season but with hargreaves replacing carrick and tevez replacing saha or solskjaer!;)

(Does anyone know why it sais hot prospect under my screen name on the left?)

With the two holding players the 4-2-3-1 does sound defensive but it was played in two of our best games last season, the 7-1 against Roma and the 3-2 vs Milan and we didn't seem to have a problem with it there. I personally am looking forward to it as the 2 in midfield will free up the front 4 to rip teams apart.

Van der Sar

Nev Rio Vidic Evra

Ronnie Scholes OH Giggs/Nani

Rooney Tevez

To be honest its very hard to see OH and Carrick playing together, no real benefit there, I agree that Giggs will be used sparingly but not so much Scholes, Fergie will have learned the lesson of overexposing Cristiano too soon and will ease Nani and Anderson into the side. Personally I would flog off Sicknoye Saha and keep Smith, the guy works so much harder and gives you much more in the way of options, plus he would most likely play if he had a runny nose, unlike Saha. Despite that little rant, I cannot bloody wait to get the new season kicked off, considering we played the best football the Prem has seen in years last year, god knows what is ahead.....

i agree with your team/formation giggs is getting older but hes still a world class player, although he cant play as much as ronaldo and rooney etc he still starts in my strongest 11.
its sad that giggs scholes and neville are getting older they are united heroes and i wish they could play for much longer:(

I think its funny that people are talkin about Scholes in terms of him 'winding down' and being 'on the way out'. I dont know about you guys but if last season is his idea of winding down, long may it last. There is not a team in Europe that he wouldnt start in, at times last year he was beyond magnificent, a true honour to watch him play, you really get the feeling that years from now people will look back on him with the same fondness as they do for Charlton/Law now.

There is no question that next season, he will continue to be the brains and the creative genius behind our midfield, its just a question of who plays behind him.

For once we will have some genuine talent coming off the bench and if you are 1-0 down at half time you can bring on a super sub to win the game for us!
:D Yup a few years back we had a bench to be feared aswell.. the last few years no one would fear o'shea, fletcher, the token 'coming back from injury' striker and a couple of unproven 18/19yo's

Now look at the bench, Bring on next season!!!! :D

We have the same problem that Chelsea did last season for too many first team players, difference is though apart from Ronaldo I can't pick out any other Ego-Maniacs at united unlike Chelsea its difficult to pick out one thats not! So its not going to be a problem providing we stay all the competitions for a long time

I hate when people say this is my line up and then say giggs OR nani on the left! carrick OR hargreaves in the middle-dont know what your prefered team is?
mabey you mean giggs first then nani if injured and carrick first then hargreaves if injured etc. ???

anyway my first front 6 would be:

rooney tevez

giggs hargreaves scholes ronaldo

(nani for giggs if injured or tired. anderson for scholes if injured or tired. and carrick for hargreaves if injured or tired!)
