Hey guys hope all is well :)

First of all i hope Carly see's this, and i would like to thank her for the topic she posted around Munich time about my granddad it has been passed on, it moved alot of our Family to read such nice comments about him and it sent a tingle down my spine when i did

Thank you Very Very Very Much and i mean that

I dont get to come on here often as i have been pretty busy over the past few months:(

I was wondering whether i could ask a favour off some of you United fanatics as ive been looking for an answer for a long time which i cant seem to find:(

Its just a quick question really

I have 2 1958 FA cup final programmes signed by my Granddad and Nat lofthouse (im not sure whether there are anymore out there signed by the two?)

My question is, they are both different in strange ways, i have heard previously that they made a copy of the final programme, does anyone know how to tell the original from the copy??

Sorry if its in the wrong section

First of all mate, glad your here and hats off to your grandad, your a lucky bloke!

With regards to the program, bring it to your local library. I had to get a document
checked, and they found it out for me after a week. Maybe a bit more but short enough.

That was a good 2 or 3 years ago so I'm not sure if they still do it. Either that or
possibly a local museum or something like that?

Hope that's helpful mate, and good luck on your quest! ;)

Welcome back Danny. How have you been?
I cant help you with your question but Im sure there is someone who can.Good luck.

Ive been good thanks, thank you for asking

Winning the champions league and league and watching it was awesome, not being able to go due to work commitments was a downer but i enjoyed it in my local with a bit too many pints
My granddad enjoyed it though thats the main thing, he traveled with the team on the plane and stayed on the same floor as them on the hotel
Supposedly my Grandma had trouble getting out of the lift and a hand came across the door to hold it open for her, she said thank you very much you are a very nice young man only to find out it was Ronaldo and Anderson

Thanks alot :D

I actually went to my local library and they looked at me like i had 3 heads (we are talking about Crewe library here though)

Museum is a good call but at the moment i dont have enough time on my hands to go anywhere around my area hence why ive asked on here, when work is this stressful the internet is the closest thing i can get to the outside world and normally has all the answers i need lol

Thanks alot

Danny

this one has a few pictures of inside

look at the various ones on there and compare with yours i would say 50 years of age results in yellowing of paper however well kept also staples show rusting . it does not make a fortune as a programme without the signatures so i would say that the value is in the sigs not the proggys per se . obviously they have more than monetry value to you though . i was always told that provenance is all important so your family link adds to this

this guy should be able to shed some light as well

Thankyou, I appreciate that Danny.

All I did was write a few words.

What your grandfather did is beyond anything I can ever say about him.

He's a hero and he's United !!!

He always will be ... :)

Harry Gregg is a hero more for his actions off the field than ALL his United games.

Playing for United is a honour and first and foremost part of sport. Saving human life is totally different and completely overshadows any medals he may have won.

We dont need a Harry Gregg...we need a SIR Harry Gregg!!!!!

Cheers guys it really does mean alot to hear things like these about him

Carly, what you said was from the heart and i cant say enough times how it made my spine tingle:cool:

My granddad is not just my granddad he is my hero and i could only dream of being like him

Sir Harry, now that has a ring to it, i think that would make him the happiest man ever, but he's the sort of guy that would turn it down

Im also glad that Rio and all the players dedicated their win for the Babes:cool:
