The thing is its not that I'm expecting flawless performances, I'm quite patient with young players. Its just that, when you look at the attributes he has displayed over the last year, he's basically left with pace and not a lot else.I'm not sure this I am getting this right? I think I read somewhere that the definition of knee-jerk reaction is to write a players career off after a couple of poor games.
I do remember Anderson playing Gerrard and Fabregas out of games last season and hence the song.
It is very sad that because of our exceptional season last year that a lot of supporters expect flawless performances week in week out.
He cannot shoot to save his life, his decision making is not good, his passing is wayward (although in fairness from time to time he will execute a cracking through ball) he's not terrible at tackling but he can be naive, his positional sense is not good and his movement is woeful.
And what worries me is, he's clearly putting on weight in fat and that suggests a lack of professionalism, and will also be detrimental on his one really strong point, the physical aspect of his game. He also looks very arrogant these days - and I'm beginning to worry if maybe (and I know I'm make assumptions here) that maybe he has walked into a team that is successful, and begun to think he's already 'made it' which would explain his backwards development. I really think he's become a liability for us and I'd feel more confident now with Gibson in the team!
Its such a shame because when he joined he had such an enthusiasm and seemed like he really could be good, and we'd all seen the Youtube videos of his trickery, but its all gone backwards from there. I hate to say it but I've reached the end of my tether with him. One thing I won't bring into it is the price we paid for him because that is out of his control. He was supposed to be brought in to be an attacking force to replace Scholesy and frankly I just don't see it :frown:
