anderson this season has shown glimpses of a really top quality midfielder. he has the eye for a pass, he can use some silky skills yet he knows when and where to use them. for such a young guy, his football brain seems to be pretty sound, and although he only had 1 assist and didnt score in open play, (although i'm happy to count that penalty) he seems to have a fairly good shot on him and not be afraid to use it. he looks like the sort of player who can get his eye in and then start to get a few.
i think 20 goals is a bit too far for him, certainly next year. perhaps he can contribute 5-10 this year and then we can start considering him as a 20 goal a year man. we shouldn't hide behind our expectations of a 19 year old to avoid the fact that if Ronaldo leaves, we need a world class striker.
Anderson has played behind the striker on a couple of occasions, notably Arsenal in the cup where i felt he ran the game and was immense. he also has strength and pace, but the last thing that he (and Nani) need are comparisons to ronaldo and ronaldinho respectively. they are both so young and need nurturing that although we may see shades of a top quality guy, they don't start to think it before they get there.
