Arsenal lose nine players

CRISIS-HIT Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is without NINE Gunners stars for crunch Champions League qualifying showdown against FC Twente.

And Cesc Fabregas will miss the first two weeks of the season with a hamstring injury.

Wenger must now take one of the biggest gambles of his career as he relies on his kids to take care of Steve McClaren's side.

Summer signing Aaron Ramsay, 17, will make his debut in Fab's absence after Arsenal jetted over to Holland last night with six teenagers in their 18-man squad.

Wenger said: “The Champions League qualifiers are our biggest games of the season — but we have left a big squad at home and I am not left with many options.

“Basically, it is a choice of a young player or an even younger one.

“As well as Fabregas we are without Toure, Senderos, Nasri, Diaby, Rosicky, Eduardo, Song and Amaury Bischoff.

“I have never known such a problematic start to a season.

“The trouble is, when you have to play Champions League qualifiers so early, you push players and they get injuries, which is what has happened.â€

Could this turn out to be the perfect opportunity to knock Arsenal off the CL?! The embarrassment, shame and trauma may just eat into them for the rest of the season. He he he. :D
these two games will be huge tests for arsenal and i think it is a real possibility that they could crash out of europe at the first hurdle. however the fact tht the opposing manager is mclaren does dampen my hopes :p
lol i wish. but it would never happen. old macca will never turn over arsenal with a dutch side. would love it tho. but can see this never happening. theyv still got walcott ramsey gallas etc
good for them.. now let them feel how is the pain is since beginning of the season
They could beat FC Twente with there reserve side, what the hell's he on about? If you want a proper injury list then look at ours Mr Wenger.
Fair play to Ramsey. He picks Arsenal ahead of us and his 1st competitive game is an important Champions League game.

I'd like to think Twente will cause an upset with all these injury problems for the Gunners but I just can't see it.
I WISH they would knock them out, Arsenal are a waste of space in the Champions League they always do well and then falter around the QF's. They've reached one final and couldn't even keep the lead :p I don't think they will get knocked out though, they still have enough quality to see of Twente.
wenger have anough player to get qf for champions league..........
