Misleading title!!!

Just read the news section there and it talked about how Arsenal got away with Adebayor and Bentner fighting on the pitch, maybe not as severe as Dyer and Bowyer but shouldn't be tolerated none the less..

Then against United they kicked Nani, attempted to injure him and again got away without punishment.. all of these players should have served 3 match bans!!!

Maybe I'm just being paranoid here but.....

Basically do Arsenal have to abide by different Rules to the rest of the league??

Does Deane still have a big influence on these sorts of things? It really is a major conflict of interest that he’s high up in the FA and a major shareholder of a club (I assume he still is by the way correct me if I’m wrong)

Realistically would United or Liverpool or Blackburn etc. have gotten away with the likes of the above?

Arsenal do seem to get away with a lot. Even when it comes to their manager, Wenger will complain, moan and kick up a fuss when things don't go his way, but when dodgy decisions do go his way he 'didn't see it' or refuses to comment.

You brought up the point about Bendtner and Adebayor, which I think is interesting. Since their argument or spat on the pitch, I don't think they've been as effective (it'll probably come back to haunt me on Saturday). It'll be interesting to see how they work together as the only two fit and realistic strikers Arsenal have at the moment, especially with Manchester United hot on their tails and looking ready to dominate once more if the chance arrives.

David Dein sold his shares in Arsenal last year to
a company called Red & White.

It does seem as if Arsenal can get away with a lot
more than every other team. Dein is no longer employed
at Arsenal though so I don't think we can call it a
conflict of interest anymore. The newspapers are biased
towards Arsenal because they are based in London.
Where is the FA based?

Liverpool get away with things too. A couple of years ago
Gerrard was sent off in the Amsterdam Tournament but
didn't get a suspension for the Premier league, a year
later Rooney and Scholes were sent off in the same
tournament and both missed three games at the start
of the campaign. Double standards!

P.S. Feel free to copy and paste my or other mods
articles into Man Utd Chat if you want to discuss them ;)

Did anyone see the Citeh Vs Everton game last night? Petrov was sent off for an off the ball kick at Leon Osman's ankles and was promptly given a red card for his troubles. There was absolutle no difference between that incident and the one involving Gallas and Nani 9 days earlier. Will Petrov be able to site the fact that Gallas had gotten away scot free even after a review of the video evidence in order to get his card rescinded. Not likely as he doesn't play for Arsenal...

Also, with the talk of double standards, wasn't there Citeh player who missed a drugs test and was allowed to continue playing just a couple of weeks before Rio missed his and was suspended for 8 months?

never heard about the citeh player missin the drugs test but wouldn be at all surprised!!

I honestly think Petrov has a case to get the red card recinded as kicking a player when ur in a bad mood is clearly not a bookable offence!!! I'd take the FA to court over that if I were him for discrimination! (dunno if you're allowed do that but if this happened in any other industry where different punishments were given for the same crime....... there'd be outrage

Citeh player = drugs - yes it happened. He got a fine after failing to attend a test. Rio, missed a test, because he forgot, and got an 8 month ban wasn't it? To Rio's mind it wasn't important as he never took anything.

London clubs are the FA's darlings - they can do no wrong.

On that point, in the Arsenal vs Birmingham game when they were 2-1 up
Adebayor was through on the keeper and had Bendtner completely free
on his right. Whether he saw him and chose to ignore him is a bit debatable,
but the keeper saved it in the end. If he had layed an easy pass to the right they
would have been 3-1 up and out of sight. I think he didnt pass to him on purpose
and that their partnership wont be as effective as it should be cos he hates him. :)

saw that ya!! if arsenal are depending on two guys that hate each other to gun them to the title it can only be good news for us!!

another thing i noticed over the weekend; Aliadiere was sent off for the slightest little slap across the head! still cant believe Gallas and Flamini got away with 3 match bans cos they deserved them!!! imagine they'd have been without Gallas and |Toure in defence for a few weeks! they'd have leaked goals like crazy!

Of course Arsenal have their own set of rules.

How else can you explain their players getting away with kicking Nani and Aliadiere being given a 4 match ban for a cheeky slap across the face?!

He should have stayed at Arsenal - he'd have gotten away with it then!!!
