Against all the odds, the Chelsea manager has dragged his side back into the race. Granted, United still have the slight edge going into the last two games due to a superior goal difference but Grant can surely only be applauded for the job he is doing. He has still to win over some of the fans after replacing the 'Special One', Jose Mourinho, in September. This was his 50th game in charge and he was looking to overturn the 2-0 defeat by United at Old Trafford in his first match in charge three days after taking over. He did that and Chelsea are now level on points with us ahead of games at Newcastle United on Monday, May 5 and finally Bolton Wanderers. How do you think he perform since his inception and took over the reins at Stamford Bridge? He is daring to believe...and in my honest opinion, the 'Special One'! ;)

He hasnt won anything yet........
Fans can be so fickle. He will be the toast of the town today but if he doesnt
win a trophy this season which is likely, they will be baying for his head,
and for him to be sacked......

i feel he is a coach and pipo are beginning to take a barcelona and madrid approach to life of judging coaches n personality and looks rather then technical knowledge this man dragged a chelsea squad with similar problems to those of the galaticos n kept them in the champs league......we all thought it was a 2 horse race between us and arsenal but they stumbled were better they in recent time in terms of form have been the best regardless of whether chelsea win the title or not grant has to be given credit for getting mourinhos left overs this far when u look at chelsea their players need to be masterminded because unlike united they do not have great individual talents but more or less a good system i would give him the money and then judge him when you see him work with what he has.

His doing a very good job at the moment and under the conditions he had to do it in, his done very very well...the Chelsea fans are just a little spoilt imo...having one foot in the CL final, FA Cup semis, League Cup Final and tied at top of the EPL is not good enough for them...if thats not a good season then what is? They have to realise they are not the only strong force in England!!

He deserves more credit. First 51 games, he has 4 points less than Jose...? They both play boring football. Avram has got them somewher Chelsea have never been before; beaten Champions League finalists. But seriously, they are servely fickle fans down the Kings Road.

Just a thougt, why do so many wants their managers to be running riot at the touch line and think an ice man who still do their tactical changes to win games as nothing but a pile of .....ehm ice?:D Sure, emotions looks good in TV or at the stadiums but is it really necessary?

Grant vs Mourinho: Grant may seem to be boring but give the old man credit for his work at the Bridge. His job isnt easy. He got an eccentric boss who doesnt know anything about football. The team was at least during the first seasons his toy and I remember Ranieri made comments about how The Tsar wanted to take part at the tactical talks. While Mourinho who gave Chelsea titles and cup triumphs but always thought he was larger then life and that he was Chelsea. Look at the results, within the chance to win the league and on ground where the Portuguese never went with Chelsea. Playing the Champions League final.
And a person who talks about him or herself as Mourinho do sends chills down my spine. This 3rd person reference about yourself is something mass murderer often do a psycologist said. :D

As good as Avram Grant is or isn't, I still believe it's Chelsea's team that's doing it, not their manager. Thing is, I think anybody who inherits a team like Grant has will do well. Frankly, I suggest that Steve McClaren be given a year as their manager. If the team finish in the top 3 in the Premiership and get to at least the quarterfinals in the Champions League, then it proves that a 6 year old could do it. The real special one is Roman Abramovich, not Mourinho, not Grant.

Jose was the luckiest manager ever in history , his luck started at old trafford when scholes was two yards onside and slotted in goal number two , only to be ruled offside by that blind linesman
That would have put his team out of europe , but they played on and got a late equaliser , from a very dubious free kick and the rest is history.
If it was not for the fact they robbed us at old trafford and went on to win the champions , he would never have been the chelsea manager in the first place

Bitter...you should be wearing blue. Lol.

It was onside though. The rest is history. Still had to get thru's the semi's and win the final. He was the manager of the moment, hence why he got the job.

People can't say Avram is bad. Its easy to blame the manager if things go wrong, but if they win, the players get the praise, always beats me that. He's made some great tactical changes, (1-0 down to Arsenal and winning 2-1, as a direct result of bringing Anelka on, that one example is enough) He's caught us up, after their relativley poor start, and don't forget is only 4 points down on Mourinhio at this stage in his career.

Yes you are right it is bitterness , i always get pissed off when they call him the special one ,they went out with an open cheque book and took all the players we were after (thanks to kenyon).
the special one is fergie not only has he brought us untold success , but he has sold players as well and made good money to balance the books, he also carried our success on through the ground developement processs without hindrance to our results, now thats what i call special.
We live in hope roman pulls the plug one day , he has still got some problems in the russian courts regarding money.
