Edwin was one of the top 3 keepers in Europe last season and was in inspired
form all season long. He will still be number 1, its safe to say.

Now the big question. Who should be number 2?
At Edwin's age, he picks up the odd injury now and again so the number 2
needs to be ready at all times. Its a very important position and as far as Im
aware it's all still up in the air as to who it will be.

Kuzzie has come in and done well when asked and we saw Foster make his
first Prem appearance vs Derby and do really well. Fergie has even come out
and said that Foster will be future England no.1.

Will one go out on loan?
Will they both stay and fight to be the number 2?
How will new coach Eric Steele view it?

Who would you pick as the second keeper?
Kuzzie or Foster?
(Poll added)

i voted foster as much as i like kussie i just think foster is more confedent and holds more box awareness and also has a better catch, kussie is fantastic though made some amazing saves so it pretty hard to decided but i went with the english man on this one but hay what a good situation to have :D

Foster gets my vote...

...he just seems more assured the Kusczazk...

and is it me or is Kusczazk almost always involved in a penalty
decision??

Foster should be but I think Fergie will chop and change them so they both gain
experience for when Wdwin leaves.

Good to know that we have Englands future number 1 anyway! ;)

lol. Johnner the cat.

Im surprised this poll is so one sided. Its a bit like the Rio-Mexes one  :D

Polls in this forum just baffle me. Hunter>Berba, then Berba>hunter & Henry
i think many people are confused.... we all know Berba is THE man ;)

I haven't voted yet, because I'm not sure van der Sar should be number 1.

I'm not even sure he was in "inspired form" all season long.
He had shaky "blips" where he flapped at crosses, mauled his defenders when he came out for crosses - which he didn't clear particularly well and then his kicking became dodgy.

The poll should be changed to "Which goalkeeper should start regularly" or something to that effect, because in my opinion (and I'm sober this evening) it should be Foster, not van der Sar.

Yes he saved THAT penalty and also last season against Man City, but I've started to lose confidence in Edwin.

He's still good, but I think this season Ben Foster will and should be given a lot of starts. If he regains the form he showed at Watford he can be top keeper.

PIG is a very good shot stopper from what iv seen. But im always nervous when the ball get crossed into the box. Always feel he could drop it or something.

So i voted for Foster as i think he is better all round and has a brighter future at United.

I am unsure why we have this thread. Fergie stated quite clearly at the end of last season that Edwin was No 1 and that Foster was no 2. Kusczszak was going on loan. He has said nothing to amend this statement.
What the heck? I never heard this....Have you got a link RD?

Twice in one day we dont agree  Whats the world coming to.
How can you say that about Edwin? He was in the top 3 keepers in Europe
after Iker and Buffon. He was the difference in so many games, and also helped
us win the big one by saving Anelka's penalty. His distribution, reflexes,
leadership and savage saves have been a constant feature all season.

Yeah he flaps the odd time or sends his kicks into the stand but who cares?
As long as the goals dont go in, whats the problem? people say he was shaky
against Barca and his kicking was crap, putting us under pressure.
Yes the same series of games he let in 0 goals.... thats my point really.
Edwin is a legend. Even the great ones make mistakes. Look at Cech in the
Euro's. It was all because of him they got knocked out.

Edwin is easily number 1. I think this thread is perfectly valid in discussing our
number 2. I think you will be on your own for this one Rfr ;)
