Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
Agger has been out of action since September after suffering a broken metatarsal.
The talented central defender had made a return in the reserves last month, but Agger has struggled to shake off the problem.
Liverpool have decided to send Agger for an operation in a bid to finally correct the problem.
Reds boss Rafa Benitez admitted it was a major blow to lose Agger.
"It's a blow for Daniel but we want to get his problem sorted," Benitez told the club's official website.
"We have defensive cover and Martin Skrtel is playing very well. Daniel will be back for next season."

GOOD NEWS! Their best CB is out! They were hoping he could play but he won't so its great news. Skrtel looked good vs Inter but he is still adapting and is inexperienced which is good!
