Its funny yes, but if you step back and think about it, Do we want him to stay or leave?
His rotation policies over the years have wrecked any chance they have had of
coming close to winning the Prem. If he did leave and they actually got in a top top
manager they could become more threatening. I like Rafa being in charge of them
cos they never do the business in the league. My only worry is that some amazing
manager would come in and do a great job.
So Im in 2 minds about this.
I fully expect, and want, Rafa to stay.

I'm just looking from the point of view of what the uncertainty and the drawn out talks could do to Liverpool this season.

Liverpool face Rafa Benitez exit over contract dispute

Rafa Benitez could quit Liverpool at the end of the season if his contract demands are not met.

And his hometown team Real Madrid head a list of clubs - including Chelsea and Manchester City - who would be interested in offering him an escape route. The Anfield boss yesterday rejected a deal worth £5million a year that will keep him at the club until 2013, because he wants more control over football matters.

He said: "Our differences are about my responsibilities. The owners feel the manager's decisions need to be subject to the chief executive but I know that I am subject to results and to our fans and they are the best judges I will ever have," he said.

"The only person who can decide the value of a player to his squad is the manager because he knows what elements are needed to improve the squad."

Co-owner Tom Hicks claimed he is confident the Spaniard will be the manager for the next five years, but the situation has opened the prospect of Benitez walking out in the summer.

He has been at loggerheads with chief executive Rick Parry for several years over transfer policy and he explained he will not put up with so much interference on football matters any more.
