Two boys aged 8 and 10 had a day out at Silverstone to look forward to.

A day out with their Daddy, watching the sport they loved.

They set off, excited at the prospect of the day out, at 5am ...

At 5.45 am they were both dead.

Their father lies in hospital clinging to life.

Their mother is distraught !!!

Luke McCormick, the Plymouth Argyle goalkeeper has been
charged with 4 counts. Two of causing death by wreckless
driving, one of drink driving and one of driving with no
insurance !!!

So what sentence should they give this low life ?

I say 15 years prison ... even this is not enough !!!

Anyone who drinks and then drives is a disgrace to humanity !!!

Even 1 pint of beer is too much !!!

I have just watched the mother in a press conference and it
broke my heart to see her like this, so sad and crying uncontrollably.

Those poor childrens lives are finished now - and their mothers life
and their fathers too if he survives.

Throw the book at ANY DRINK DRIVERS I SAY !!!

Drink and drive = 1 year prison minimum !!!

R.I.P Ben and Arron Peak ...

I heard about this but didnt know he had been drinking etc....
They should throw the book at him and send him down for years and years,
to make an example of him.
I cant believe people still drink and drive. Totally selfish and inexplicable
behaviour. Nothing will bring those kids back, so hopefully that
..... will go to jail and think about his actions for a very very long time.

Whatever this man goes down for, it will not fill the hole in the families heart. Punishing this man for a long time probably is not worth it. He knows what he has done is wrong. Ruining his life as well will not solve the situation.

Two wrongs don't make a right....

Sorry mate, I want him to suffer. He had been on the binge all night. No disrespect to you, but its answers like that get people two weeks holiday in Jamaica instead of a grotty labour camp which these deserve.

He has killed two kids, ruined a family for life and you do not want him "overly punished" - sod that - hanging isn't good enough.

but it would make someone like me happy. even if he gets life. the real life sentence is the mother of those 2 kids.

If you are drunk ... and driving a car ... this 1.5 tonnes of moving metal is a lethal
weapon surely.

It's deadly !!

It's as bad as a gun and worse than a knife !!

This McCormick's crime can never be compared to murder as it is not pre
-meditated - thus making it a lesser crime right away.

It's very hard for a judge to pass sentence for this I imagine.

On the one hand a persons death is always serious and calls for a severe
sentence. But on the other hand the driver did not set out to deliberately to
cause death or serious injury.

In some instances Death by dangerous driving could happen because of a split
second momentary lapse in concentration. Whereas in others it can be due to
the driver being overly aggressive or in the worst cases under the influence of
drink or drugs.

I've checked and the starting point for sentencing is imprisonment !

He can expect 2-5 years as he was under the influence of alcohol.

Add more because it was 2 deaths.

Add more for the serious injury to the father assuming he survives.

I would estimate he will get 4 - 7 years and a 2 year driving ban.

Even the 7 years is not enough, or is it ?

What do you think ?

you would like to think that this guy was just caught up in a fatal misjudgment and feels rock bottom for his mistake.
if he does, prison sentences will probably not do much good to him. he has to live with this for the rest of his life. if he's a good person, that will do as much to him as a life sentence.

r.i.p. the two little lads, best wishes to the father for a swift recovery. best wishes to the mother. no one could even imagine how she feels.

It not just death by dangerous driving. He was drunk.

He got off his face and devastated a family. The minimum
charge he should get is manslaughter, but as we all know,
today's justice system will give him four years and he'll be
out in two and playing football again in no time.

he knew the risks he was taking. he was drunk. it was reasonably foreseeable that something like this would happen if like RD said, he had been on an all night binge.he owed a duty of care to all the road users, and he did not complete that duty.
and thats forgetting he was driving dangerously.AND had no insurance (which is not a big point in the grand scale....BUT come on who does he think he is?! we all have to pay for it so he should aswell!!)

lock him up and throw away the key comes to mind.
we all know it won't happen and it shouldn't happen if we think it through properly.

he will get less than 8 years, and will be walking the streets again after 4 through good behaviour. that night will live with him for the rest of his life.it will haunt him.

what happened to those two children (and the father) is heart breaking.utterly heart breaking.may the children RiP and the dad pull through.

i do alot of motorway driving and it just shows how dangerous they can be.real eye opener.
