Celtic and Rangers would be top six sides within about ten years of joining epl .

The huge fanbase and the huge increase in revenue available would ensure that .

The spl would either thrive or die without them its hard to say .

The idea of a british cup to replace the carling cup would be intriguing would it not ?

Northern ireland does not have a club capable of playing any higher than league 2 in England .

Would Uefa sanction such a event in pretty sure only European competition can see teams from other countrys compete in each others domestic cups.

Saying that Welsh clubs are let into our cups and leagues but arnt allowed to qualify for europe through them without permission.

What supposedly stops it happening is that fifa would insist on a united kingdom side ,which is another debate as well .

Would a british team ever work ?

How many scots welsh norn irish would make a side ?

Thirty years ago a brit side would have had loads of variety with half side scottish .

A UK national football team have won twice the Olympic gold medal in 1908 an 1912. It would be intriguing to see them at any competition.

It would be great to watch for us too as the minute a scot scored a great goal he would become a brit ---then when he flopped he would be slagged as a hopeless sweaty . you watch andy murray for proof of this over the next few years .

And who manages it ? accusations of bias would fly from all corners .

Giggs , irwin, hughes, and many others would have made the side over the years for certain

To bring on an UK football team, all football associations should sit together to talk about who should be the team manager and how many players from each association to break into the team. It would be an endless discussion but my choice would be Sir Alex Ferguson when he leaves Man Utd. :p

british league will never happen , all those involved with a say would ensure it wont....one main reason the champions league and uefa cup places would disappear and can you imagine all those top sides fighting it out for 3 or 4 places at a push instead of the extra ones that two separate leagues bring at the moment.

would love to see a british cup thoug....carling cup could easily be adapted.

After I read this article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Football_League), I thought it would be interesting to see Manchester United play against Rangers, Celtic or against Northern Irish football clubs in a British Football League or British Cup.

What do you think about it?

A British Football League or not?

I thought that was called Champions League.

When did a Northern Irish team play in the Champions League the last time?

How many times we've played against Rangers and Celtic in the Champions League?

No,if its on a permanent basis, and NO if its ANOTHER cup/comp to clog up the fixture list. There are already far too many tournies in one season,we dont need another.
