Young United striker Fraizer Campbell is looking forward to a first appearance at Wembley, after helping Hull City reach the Championship Play-Off final.
The Tigers followed up a 2-0 victory away at Watford with a resounding 4-1 thumping at home on Wednesday night.
Campbell recently told Inside United that he was delighted with how his season had gone at Hull, and said that promotion would be the perfect end to the season.
“To come on loan, play most weeks and score goals has been perfect for me. I've really enjoyed myself and we're doing really well in the league now, too – better than anyone expected. It would be perfect if we could finish the season properly with promotion. To get up into the Premier League would be a massive achievement.â€
Hull's triumph followed Bristol City's progression on a tense Tuesday night at Ashton Gate, where a 2-1 victory for the Robins secured a 4-2 aggregate win, and a date at Wembley on 24 May.
Neither of the two teams has ever played top flight football since the Premier League was formed, and the last time United faced either side was in 1988, when the Reds beat Hull 5-0 at home and then 1-0 away in the League Cup, with Brian McClair scoring in both games. In all competitions, United have played Hull 20 times, with the Reds coming out on top on 12 of those occasions.
