Northern Ireland manager Nigel Worthington has drafted defender Craig Cathcart into his squad for the World Cup qualifier against San Marino on Wednesday.

Worthington has taken this step following the withdrawal of Jonny Evans because of an ankle injury and Chris Baird through illness.

Cathcart, currently on loan to Plymouth from Manchester United, was scheduled to play for the under-21s against Wales on Tuesday in a friendly in Ballymena.

It didnt do Evans any harm being drafted up by NI. He was a regular international
before he started getting games for United. Good luck to Cathcart, hope he does well.

He didn't get a game the win tonight, but with McCartney suspended for the Poland game, I'd like to see him play alongside Evans and the centre the norn iron defence.:)

Has anyone seen them playing together at united in these positions???:)

Good for Northern Ireland and United !:)
