Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas has revealed he was approached by an Italian club over the summer.

The Gunners schemer is one of Europe's brightest talents after enjoying a dramatic rise since joining the North London club from Barcelona in 2003.

Primera Division giants Barca have made no secret of their desire to one day recapture his signature, while Serie A outfit AC Milan are also believed to be admirers of his quality.

Fabregas, who recently confirmed his commitment to the Emirates Stadium club, explained he received a big-money offer from abroad during the previous transfer window but a move failed to materialise.

"Yes, it's true. I did have offers from an Italian side which were interesting from an economical point of view," Fabregas told

"However, nothing really happened after that."

Reports claim Milan could attempt to lure Fabregas to the San Siro again in the future, however Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is highly unlikely to allow his star man to leave without a fight.,19528,11854_4370081,00.html
