I wished for:
Sporting CP
Celtic
Anorthosis

What we got is similar eventhough I rank Villarreal better then Sporting and Aalborg way better then Anorthosis its not that big difference. Im pleased with what we got and pleased who we didnt got like Bordeaux, Marseille, Atletico Madrid or Fenerbahce. I dont rank the pot 2 teams as worse or better since two teams qualify for 2nd round.

Why did I want Celtic? I prefered them to the other teams just because I want a the feelings to boil and to have a pretty stiff competition and the nerve too. I wouldnt want to get the good sides of Bordeaux or Marseille where we could lose and it would be just another CL night.

It could have been a lot easier. celtic is always tough. We lost at theirs last time.
Villareal are pretty good as well and could cause problems.
Its an ok draw but definitely NOT an easy draw.

Group A: CHELSEA, AS Roma, Bordeaux, Cluj
Group B: Inter, Werder, Panathinaikos, Anorthosis
Group C: Barcelona, Sporting, FC Basel, Shakhtar
Group D: LIVERPOOL, PSV, Marseille, Atletico
Group E: MAN UTD, Villarreal, CELTIC, Aalborg
Group F: Lyon, Bayern, Steaua, Fiorentina
Group G: ARSENAL, FC Porto, Fenerbahce, Dinamo Kiev
Group H: Real Madrid, Juventus, Zenit, Bate
I agree that its not an easy draw but still it could be worse. Aalborg isnt good enough and we're the better of the other three teams and its important to win the home games and the away games are not impossible to even win. But I rather take Villarreal rather then Bayern, Juventus, WB or Roma. And Celtic well, its not the easiest of clubs in pot 3 but Bordeaux or Marseille along with mad turks in Istanbul would be a worse away game.
Im aware of the mad Celtic fans in Glasgow but I personally prefer them to the others. Other choices would be to got to Romania or Greece or the poorest in pot 3 Basel would be a better draw but Celtic is a more exciting draw.

Villarreal and Beppe Rossi :)

If you doubt we will beat Celtic away I say the same about Villarreal. The submarines are better then you think. I think the opposite that we're beating Celtic in Glasgow too but might have to settle for a draw in Spain.

Aalborg is a decent team but havent got what it takes to even steal a point from any of the teams in our group.

Never mind the mad Celtic fans in Glasgow...... I've got one in my house. Its not going to be pretty. Perhaps he could move into the garden shed for a while. I can only hope the ifs buts and maybes of the possible outcomes lead to qualification for both teams (without Utd losing to the hoops of course:D )
LOL Its gonna be a few tough weeks at home for you. Celtic can still qualify for the knock out stages after losing twice. :D

Boss relishes short trips

Sir Alex Ferguson was a happy man after Thursday's Champions League group draw, having safely avoided potential trips to far-flung destinations such as Russia, Turkey and Ukraine.

Instead he'll take his European champions on much shorter flights to Scotland, Spain and Denmark, for games against familiar opposition in Celtic and Villarreal plus the relative unknowns Aalborg BK.

As ever, regardless of the opponents, Sir Alex is still setting his sights on qualifying for the last 16 as soon as possible.

"We've had Villarreal and Celtic before, but Aalborg is a new one," Sir Alex told ManUtd.com.

"The bonus for us is there's not much travelling to do. We're satisfied with the group and we hope to get the 10 points to see us qualify.

"It's always nice to go to my home city and being drawn against Celtic adds a bit of spice to the group."
