I Cant Wait Till Tuesday, It Will Be Our Biggest Test This Season So Far. Although I Think It Will Be Easier Than The Away Leg. In My Opinion We Have To Play The Following Team:

Vds

Brown Rio Vidic Evra

Ronaldo Carrick Anderson Giggs

Rooney Tevez

If Saf Does Start Of With This Team He Will Most Likely Swap Giggs For Nani On About 60-70 Mins And Carrick For Anderson On About 80 Mins.

What Are Your Opinions??

After easing past Fulham at the weekend, I really feel that the confidence is high
and the players really seem like they mean business. Lyon aren't any pushovers
by any means, but United should really be dispatching them at Old Trafford. Lyon
won both their league games since the first leg, beating FC Metz (2-0), and Lille
OSC, (0-1) away. So they'll be full of confidence coming into the game on Tuesday
night, so it's vital that we start well and grab an early goal if possible to end
whatever hopes the French Champions have left of progressing through to the
next round. With the score at 1-1, on aggregate, it is crucial that we're tight at
the back and don't leak any stupid goals which could send us out of the
Champions League.

My Line-Up:

--------------------------------------Van Der Sar-----------------------------------------
-
-----O'Shea---------------Vidic-----------------Ferdinand-------------------Evra-----
-
----Ronaldo--------------Carrick---------------Scholes-----------------Anderson---
-
-----------------------------Rooney-------------Tevez-----------------------------------

Bench: Kusczazk, Nani, Brown, Giggs, Fletcher, Saha, Hargreaves

Fergie will start a strong team for this one, to me. He knows that he needs a
good win and the above team is more then capable of winning the tie. Lat year,
we relied on a certain, Mr. Henrick Larsson, who nodded in a Ronaldo cross to
help us move on in the competition. Paul Scholes seems to be hitting form again
after watching Saturday's game so he'll be a key figure in midfield. Carrick knows
that he's going to be fighting with Hargreaves for that midfield spot almost every
week, but this game needs a Carrick style player. Juninho will be trying to set up
most attacks and Carrick is able to monitor his possession. Along with his pin
point passes, Carrick must start in the center for me. Ronaldo and Rooney will
surely start and they're both in super form so the Lyon defence will have a lot to
deal with. Then add, Anderson and Tevez to the mix and it just spells out a win.
The back four picks itself these days although Vidic may not be back in time. If not
I'd have Wes step in for him and even still, the back looks as solid as ever.

Lyon will have to come out all guns blazing, in a bid to tame the crowd and the
United superstars. Benzema will be eager to prove his quality after netting a
splendid finish in France. Ferdinand now knows what's going to be ahead of him
so he'll be prepared and should put in yet another solid display. As for their
goalkeeper, Coupet, we all know that he's the French number 1, so we have to
respect that and realise that he is a quality keeper, proving it last time out against
Rooney and Ronaldo. We have to be smart about our shots and not try to score
from ridiculous angles because this guy will be equal to the majority of them.

Manchester United key-Man: Michael Carrick
Lyon Key-Man: Juninho

Prediction: 3-0 (4-1)

I wasn't a fan of the passive style we played in the 1st leg -- basically just playing for a draw -- but with the 1 away goal under the belt, I expect this game to be much more wide open and faster paced. Lyon need at least that 1 goal so they should come out firing right from the beginning. Hopefully we can strike back on counter attacks and put the game away early.

Great addition to the build up is that their super goalscorer Benzema is having a row with his manager Alain Perrin after the last game vs Lille. He had been placed at the left wing for the 2nd game in a row and when he was substituted he refused to shake hand with Ben Arfa (reason for not shaking hand Perrin said is the reason Benzema and Ben Arfa isnt the best friends). Perrin tried to cover up the fact French leagues best goal scorers reaction hitting out on the French Sportministry coz they took the doping test on a few of the players and delaying the home trip for the squad.

should be a quick and open game.
if we can keep it tight the first 20mins i think we could sneak 1 before half time.

2nd half lyon would have 2 chase it i can see united and especially ronaldo finding gaps in the last line of defence.

3-0

rooney, ronaldo, nani

I Rekon That We Will Win But I Cant Decide Wich Cm's Saf Will Choose - Will It Be Anderson & Hargreaves, This Would Give A More Defensive Approach To The Game.

Or

Anderson & Carrick, This Will Enable A Free-flowing And Quick Football Which Will Be Alot More Attacking.

But I Now I Have Made Up My Mid, We Should Start With Anderson & Carrick Because It Will Enable Us To Attack And Hopefully Get A Decent Lead Which Then Means Hargreaves Can Be Brought On To Protect The League And Break Down And Lyon Fight Back.

This will be be a very tough match, Lyon have quality players right through the team. Coupet is a great keeper and Squillaci and Grosso are quality defenders. In midfield they have good talent with Toulalan, Bodmer and Juninho. They have a fantastic forward line with Ben Arfa, Govou and Benzema. With players like Fred and the much underrated Cesar Delgado to come off the bench they have plenty of options. It is extremely important that Man Utd do not give away fouls near the goal as Juninho is without question the best freekicker in the world. He not only scores freekicks but also has great delivery into the box if it is not a shooting position. For that reason I would not play Owen Hargreaves as he is sometimes guilty of making reckless challenges and commiting fouls. It is a concern that Vidic may not be 100% as he will need to be sharp, we saw the dangers of playing players who are not fit in the game against AC Milan at the san siro last year when Vidic was not ready. If he is not fit enough we would be better off playing O'shea instead.
