CRISTIANO RONALDO has given team-mate Anderson the perfect Christmas gift — by comparing him to Manchester United greats Paul Scholes and Roy Keane.

The 19-year-old Brazilian, who joined United from Porto in the summer, was expected to be eased in to English football this season.

But he has become a regular in Sir Alex Ferguson's side with Scholes ruled out through injury.

And Ronaldo has been impressed by the maturity of the youngster's performances.

The Portuguese winger said: "Anderson is a fantastic player and it's no surprise to anyone at United that he is playing so well.

"He is young but he has done a great job since he came to us.

"He is a man. Just because he is 19 it doesn't mean he cannot compete with players who are older and more experienced than him.

"Anderson is a different player to Scholes and Keane but he has similar qualities to them.

"Every player has his own style, his own mentality and Anderson is showing people what great qualities he has."

While Anderson's a young & fabulous player,he's still far off from the likes of Paul Scholes & Roy Keane. Both r living legends for United,Anderson has to be one too b4 he can even be compared 2 tis two greats.

Scholes + Keane = Anderson..

ah for ****s sake.....please please don't say this in public to a die hard united fan mate......for your own health....

Once again my point from another thread is backed up.....

The greatest footballers opinions aren't always correct.......

Anderson has great potential and may well someday be as good or slightly better than Keane and Scholes, but to even say things like that now is just ludicrous....

The lad is a good player and performing excellently for us and I am as big as fan of him as anyone else........but please ffs stop with these crazy comparisons...;)

Anderson is proving what he can do and will only improve. But I must say even myself that comparing Anderson to Scholes and or Keane is completely ridiculous.
The lad has not even played one full season and he is getting these comparisons.

Lets at least see if he can retain his position in the United team and continue on the good form he is on and come away with a trophy or two before anything else!

He is only 19, plenty of time ..........

People have made the usual mistake here.

One person reads a thread and misunderstands it.....

Others then just follow along and the whole thread is one mish mash of
misunderstanding.

Hafiz never once said Anderson is better or even equal to Scholes or Keane and
yet you all say he is wrong for saying this.......

Read the quote from his thread.....

He has his own style, mentality and is showing what great qualities he has.

He then suggests Scholes + Keane = Anderson......

Meaning Scholes style of play + Keane's style of play is what he considers
Anderson to be.

So is he trying to call him the complete midfielder? Because he certainly isn't that yet.

Keane amazing defensively but not so great going forward. Scholes the total opposite. Both have great passing ability.

Anderson hasn't even scored a goal yet. Should he really be compared so easily to Scholes at the moment?

When did he say he is the complete midfielder ?

The article is here - read it.

He can be compared of course.....

Comparisons can be made between any two entities but it doesn't mean anything
does it.

We could compare Dong with Kaka quite easily......

Obvious result here.....

But by making the comparison it in no way means we consider him to be as good
as or better than him.....

Maybe,he should hve put it in this way:

Scholes style of play + Keane's style of play = Anderson's style of play

And not:

Paul Scholes + Roy Keane = Anderson

There's a huge difference between tis 2 sentences. The former means that Anderson's elemental style of play comprises of both Scholes & Keane's technique, which is passing, defending & attacking. While the latter implys that when Roy Keane's & Paul Scholes abilities were combined 2gether,they were actually only equivalent to Anderson's prowess(which means he will be the best player ever on earth). U gotta be a bit more precise sometimes. People may misunderstood ur meaning & it's actually alright for minor misunderstandings. Anyway, tis a group open to friendly debates rite?:)

Yes very good but give the guy a break here....

He is Egyptian and communicating in English.....

There are many, many foreign people here - myself included and some have good
English and some not so good so we make allowances for this I'm sure you
agree - this is a fair way to be.

From what I've seen, Anderson CAN become better than both of them. The only thing he possibly lacks is aerial power but apart from that... what doesnt he have? Pace, Strength, Good going forward and coming back, good shooting, brilliant passing, good dribbling skills...

he is different to Scholes. Anderson is much lighter which means his much faster. Scholes tends to use his weight to get pass opposistion
Uhhh no. Wrong way round. Scholes it the featherlight one and Anderson is pretty beefy.
