Darren Fletcher is the type of player everyclub in the world would want in there squad. I have never heard him complain about not be in the first 11 just does a job when called into action, last season when we destroyed Roma 7-1 was mainly down to him it was one of the best def mid displays i have ever seen if it was Hargo you would be raving bout it. fergie has also said because of people like him in our squad we were able to win the league last year, team's like Arsenal Chelsea liverpool dont have such players waiting to come in.

he is a decent player and cam play as only as a sub for united and not more.............but i think CROoney will have a say on this topic!!!!!!!!

What a ridiculous first post - not all United players need to be big name glamour players, Fletch gets stuck in, tries his best every time he plays and never gives up hastling the opposition. I'd imagine he's a very difficult player to play against and I for one am thankful he's a United player.

he is not the most talented player, but certainly a United player, so i dun see any reasons not to support him, as long as he stays at the club
Im happy to see lots of great posts on this thread(especially Alto's).
Its your first post and you choose to be critical of our players without even giving a valid reason.
As some have said, Fletch may not be the most gifted player in the team, but do we hear him complain? Does he never give 100%?
We should be happy to have him as a loyal player in our squad.
People like to slate the likes of O'Shea, Fletch adn Brown but its players like them that makes United a great squad.
You should try concentrate on the positives yeganehs.....
and you should count yourself lucky to be 'supporting' one of the best teams in the World.

How is he terrible. Played really well in big games last season like Pool, Milan and Roma at home. He won't get in the team 'cause Fergie has 4 others to choose.
I'd still hav him before Hargreeves. He has mor energy about him, Hargreeves just seems to slow our play down. Fletch prob should leave if he wants 1st team football.

some of these replies r so stupid... you people act like he's some kind of hero... he's only good for being used in practice as a scout team dummy... you people realize he was dubbed as "the next david beckham"?????? ... Ha hilarious, he scored against chelsea in 2006 and you people act like that happened yesterday... That's the only memorable thing he's done at Manchester United... Don't even try to tell me he made a big difference in the 2nd leg of the champions league match vs AS ROMA... he was lucky to be on the field that game, he should thank paul scholes... he didn't do anything special during that game.... there is a reason why fergie went out and got Carrick a couple of years ago Anderson, and Hargreaves this year.. Fergie is also pursuing Miguel Veloso from Sporting Lisbon.... If Alex Ferguson wasn't from Scotland then Darren Fletcher would have never made United's first team... fletcher is weak and gets pushed around whenever he's in the game... Roy Keane used to punk fletcher in practice all the time... It's time for fletcher to go... and please don't tell me he's a good player on scotland... The Scotland national team sucks, they haven't done anying... they've never made it to the 2nd round of the world cup or euro championships... FLETCHER NEEDS TO GO and you people who support him need to get serious... he's nothing but a 5th stringer who's good for a couple of exhibition games vs some weak asian club teams

i am not a great lover of fletcher or o shea , but appreciate the job they do in our squad over a season , are they good enough to wear the shirt i think not , would they get into the arsenal , liverpool or chelsea squads the answer is no.
but when i go to the matches i cheer them both on , its just a pity oshea isnt as good as his song

I remember watching the AC second leg last season and was proud to watch Fletcher and his commitment, one thing you can be sure you will always get from both O'Shea and Fletcher is 110% commitment and passion and heart, which I believe the same can not be said for some of the better technically players of Arsenal and Chelsea.
Fletcher is not good enough to start in midfield for us with Carrick, Anderson and Hargreaves in midfield.
However he is a good sub and a valuable squad player and a good pro just like O'Shea. What a squad is built on you could say.

I totally disagree wiyh saying darren fletcher is a bad player o.k he is no ronaldo or rooney but its the quality midfielders we have at united he is unfortunate not to be getting a look in he is a big match player and last season he played some important matches.Fletcher is a good player

His personailty, commitment etc are spot on to be at a club like Man Utd. He's done a job whenever he's featured for us.
I agree he hasnt got the skill/potential as other United players, but when you're struggling you need these types of players, as they can seriously help you get out of sticky situations.
Oh and by the way he IS a good player for Scotland.

·Where's the debate? He plays any position he's told and NEVER complains about his job! He's happy to play for Manchester United whatever the position may be, as is John O'Shea! Two unsung HEROES for us and the starter of this thread should hang his head in shame and buy himself a Citeh shirt as he is not a true United fan!!

i agree with the OP fletcher is shite.... 3 out of 5 passes go astray, he can't tackle to save his life (he just jockeys players without actually tackling) his concentration levels are crap he always loses his marker and lets people run off him
the only good thing he's got going for him is his engine but running 15k a game is not good enough for us..he's a poor mans robbie savage IMO
NO WAY WOULD HE GET INTO ANY OF THE OTHER TOP 4 TEAMS NOR DO I THINK HE WOULD GET IN POMPEYS,EVERTON,VILLA'S,WEST HAM'S, SPURS, OR NEWCASTLE'S TEAM HE WILL END UP AT BORO, BIRMINGHAM OR BOLTON
