I don't often post in this forum but I have watched this guy closely over the past while and he has impressed me greatly.

He has pace, he can use both feet (in footballing terms!!), he has a very strong shot and an excellent free kick and corner.

Also, he can play on both wings and perhaps if he were to play on the right in big matches, this would open the opportunity for Ronaldo to play upfront and have more of an impact on proceedings.

Bentley is the real deal I believe. We should snap him up now before his price tag becomes outrageous, which I'm sure it will. Also, while Sparky is in charge he should be faitful to his old club!!!

again i agree with u keano. the lad is quality and has a lot of beckham's qualities. i just don't know if he wud suit our team. if we got a big centre forward he would be a lot mor useful. i just see ronaldo and nani raiding the wings for years to come. i've thought before that ronaldo wud be useful up front. however, he is scoring so many goals from out wide, i'd say if it's not broke don't fix it.

Yeah, he definitely reminds me of Beckham. But also, this lad can dribble and take on the full-back. He possesses that extra yard of pace which is crucial for a winger to exploit full-backs.

Also, I agree Ronaldo is scoring loads of goals from the wing but you have to agree, that in the big games, he is virtually non-existent. Ok, he scored yesterday but his performance was poor.

In the big games, Bentley could play on the wing and that would leave Ronaldo free to make more of an impact on the game upfront.

Also, Bentley can play on both wings and he could be the replacement for Giggs. We do need around three wingers anyway.

Yeah i agree good player, Arsenal must be kicking therersevles now.
He is the star of the blackburn side has everything we need decent down the wing, pacey, good crosser of the ball and doesnt half have a shot on him either

I haven't seen that much of Bentley, but pace? In the England friendly game he looked like a granny to me, he's slower than Beckham was at his age.

But if we were to get another winger, I'd love to see Aaron Lennon come to Utd.

great minds think alike. In the post you started about playing Ronaldo, upfront I mentioned Bentley as a possible replacement for the berth on the right wing and it's good to see that other punters rate him too.

Looking around the prem, I'd have to say that I really like his qualities. Someone mentioned his ego and I have no idea whether he has an attitude problem, but on the pitch he seems to get on with the job quite nicely.

I rate him ahead of SWP.

I don't think he's slow, but when I think pace I think Aaron Lennon. That guy is amazing and gave Evra real problems in FA cup and league games.

We must sign David Bentley

I've mulled it over and I only want two signings this summer.
One of them is David Bentley.

I was just cooking and the roast is in the oven while I'm typing and I was thinking about possible signings this summer and who would be good enough to play for United and I must say that David Bentley should be on Fergie's wish list.

I wrote about this on another thread which suggested that Ronaldo should play as a striker.

There are pros and cons to this, but his finishing is so clinical and abilitiy to head the ball so good that I'm thinking why not?

Now let me say that the current squad is good enough. We don't actually have a dire need for more quality, but you can be sure that Chelsea and Liverpool aren;t going to rest on their laurels.

So for me, if Fergie decies to play Ronaldo as a striker, I want David Bentley and nobody else. Here would be my formation

Rooney - Ronaldo

Park - Scholes - Carrick - Bentley

Evra - Ferdinand - Vidic - Hargreaves

Foster​

If Fergie decides to keep Ronaldo on the wing that I want Huntelaar. I've done my thinking and Berba is too expensiva and a sulk, Benzema a distant dream, Drogba and Torres impossible and so it is the hunter that I want.

Sparky said Bentley stays at Blackburn. Even if he have to keep him at the reserves the whole season coz he's protesting against his decision. He's going nowhere. I dont think the price tag will be anything but outrageous. Sparky is a pro and he's loyal to Blackburn.
