What a decade to support United, getting the special everywhere with your mates, paying at the gate, Doc's Red Army in full flow, '74 in division two! You couldn't beat it.

Anyone old lads on here got any stories to share about the seventies, any Weaste/Salford lads also, would love to talk to some of the older heads.

any members from Wease or Salford.

If i find any i'll let you know.

my first season as utd fan was the one in div 2 where 60 thou gates for us 44 for liverpool . too young to go but well remember the docs attacking style jim holton martin buchan , houston, pearson etc but also remember paddy roach  sal charles red devil etc are more that era as regards match going but i was regular in 80s when you paid at gate for all bar city pool and everton which plod insisted be all ticket . salford van hire main sponsers and stretford end a seething mass . my brother is 54 now and he used to take the footie specials away and regailed me with tails of whole carraiges being dismantled and going through the windows . i also remember going away to upton park and having shipping flares fired at us ----- some darts were flying about and someone was pictured in one of papers with a dart in his head blood pouring silk scarf round neck and chheesy grin ! crazy days indeed .
Look im from wythenshawe may not of been about in the seventes but my old man was and his storys are what made me a red i could listen to them all day long . My old man is part of red history as all us reds are and it dont matter what era were from as long as we love the club we support and remember there is a history aswell as this era of succses.

Was born in 78 so unfortunately before my time. But when I look at games from that era on DVD. I see a United side that was at times as exciting as now with some quality players (McQueen, McIlroy, Greenhoff, Macari, Jordan). Our defence was leaky and our weakness.

Although we were in the middle of our drought in league titles, we were still getting to cup finals. 70's/80's were our cup years.
