Does That Player make The Difference?

Cantona, RVP etc for us and maybe now Ozil for Arsenal, which certainly/suddenly feel different from previous seasons that they so flattered to deceive, at least so far.

The cliche is of course that football is a team effort blah blah blah but in reality, does That Player make The Difference between being champions and being just another strong contender?

Ramsey, Giroud and arguably Flamini have been more important for Arsenal this season.

One player can make a team better, but one player does not turn a sack of shite into champions. Not that I think Arsenal will win the league.

When a top player is signed, they can improve the team but they can also improve spirit and morale through the club, and I think that's what is showing with Arsenal at the moment. Look at the lift players like Giroud and Ramsey have got this season.

I agree with SG. Not only a team does it.
I don't think Ozil has been playing that well lately too, I think he can and will do a lot better.
What about the lift effect it has on other players as BrianMc7 said such that the whole unit becomes somewhat stronger and hungrier?

Edit: Poll added. :D

The difference is measured appropriately at different clubs. For United, the difference a player makes will only be questioned if we do not win anything and the new acquisition plays a part. For other clubs ie; Tottenham, the quest is the Champions League for next season and only then will the difference be measured and they will either persevere with that player, or get rid. For us, the stakes are high and stacked against you making a difference at OT that's why we have had so few brilliant one-off signings that have made the other squad members hungrier or scared to lose their place. Cantona is one, RVP for sure, but there has not been too many. Saying that, Van Nistelrooy comes to mind..

Please, they're probably going in dry on our midfield.

Obviously its a team game... But I think one player can be the final piece of the puzzle or take a team up a level...
