Didier Drogba does not feel Chelsea need to fear Manchester United ahead of Sunday's trip to Old Trafford.

The Blues have been below their best in recent weeks and defeat to United would leave them with a lot of work to do in the title race.

However, United have also found life difficult this season and Drogba does not believe they are as strong at the moment as they were last term.

"Manchester United are not playing any better than us - they are struggling to win games too," Drogba told The People.

"Old Trafford is never an easy place to go but I don't see United as being so invincible as last season."

Chelsea's main problem of late has been that they are finding it hard to break teams down, especially at Stamford Bridge.

Drogba accepts the Blues need to improve and is confident he can forge a lethal strike partnership with Nicolas Anelka.

He said: "Things are not going as well for us as we had hoped, especially in attack. We are finding it difficult to get goals and that is complicating matches.

"I have played with many different strike partners over the years and I think Nicolas Anelka and I are compatible on the pitch."

Scolari praise

Drogba has also given his backing to manager Luiz Felipe Scolari and likened the Brazilian to former boss Jose Mourinho in terms of some of his techniques.

"Everyone who plays for or coaches Chelsea is under pressure to have success but I think Scolari will get the best out of us," said the Ivorian.

"He is very experienced and he knows how to handle the players.

"Scolari is not Mourinho but he has a lot of factors close to the Portuguese in terms of his treatment of the players.

"He uses a lot of psychology to boost our morale."

Drogba added that his main target this season was to help Chelsea win the UEFA Champions League, having been sent off in the defeat to Manchester United lat May.

He explained: "Chelsea are alive in all the big competitions but for me the Champions League is my special challenge after what happened to us in Moscow last year."

Yeah that's probably going to be the case, at least until they go behind....

Didier still thinks he should be at inter, to quote Kramer:

"In my mind, Jerry, I'm already gone!". :p

Haha he was probably the worst player on the pitch. One of the best moments of the day was when he completely missed that volley and it hit his standing foot. Priceless.
