Lest be honest, he's not super man, and like everyone else must have SOME weakness...

..reading this on another site and it was pretty weird..

I know his weakness! I hope no footballer is reading this but here it is.

Looking back on 9 goals he has conceded this season in the Premier League, they were all on HIS right hand side.

Kalou at the Bridge, Nasri's double, Brown's og, Babel's goal and the rest I cant think at this moment in time.

Freaky stuff!

...Last 2 words sum it up for me

I thought the Babel was was to his left?

Anyway, I think his biggest weakness is his punching. He always seems to punch the ball back into the danger area.

Sometimes his quick release throws end up putting us back in the brown stuff. Most of the time (esp against Everton) he can launch it straight to players, but against other sides he has thrown it straight back to the opponents.

Yeah I have to agree his punching is dodgy sometimes but he rarely makes a mistake thats why fergie is so keen to get another season out of him.

Some goalkeepers do get found out though remember Richard Wright he was bombed out every club he's been at why because players figured out he could be easy beaten to his left .

Ive read that somewhere one of the paper I think . Look at Carson he is in the same mould as Wright looked good young but in all seriousness he is crap with a capital C .

he made billion of "brilliant" saves on the right

the pirlo free kick last euro

thats not a weakness its just luck and its very stupid to say the he a goalkeeper weakness is based on the side were more goals were scored

It would help if he was even in goal at the Bridge

Anyway, at the beginning of the season his form was very dodgy. However, he has picked it up and been on good form since, but there is still a few dodgy moments during games but which don't come to anything for the other side.

His main weaknesses seems to be his punching, and also punching when he should be catching imo, and his annoying habit to hesitate when coming for crosses, coming off his line etc etc. He is also dodgy coming off his line quite often, but it hasn't happened recently.

Also, I think the defence also help him out a lot. The defence wasn't playing great at the beginning of the season and that's when he was on his bad form. Now that the defence are doing better, he hasn't had a lot to do but has dealt with everything well.

Like zuco said, his punching is a bit dodgy. His kicking was atrocious when he had a poor run of form some time ago. But now he is full of confidence and seems unbeatable. The wonders that confidence can do to a players performance!

Sometimes he punches he should be catches, and his reflexes might not be what they quite used to be understandably with him being 38.

But let's not get on his back about it. Edwin didn't start the season in top form but he's responded and picked up his game. He's still in my opinion easily one of the best 'keepers in the league.

He won't be around forever but he's still doing a steady job at present. 12 clean sheets in a row, he must be doing something right :)

I think sometimes he just doesn't have the confidence, he should catch but punches instead and that's why the punch is bad as he changes his mind to punch at the last minute, i think he's been great recently and i agree that those earlier mix ups with the defence,

PS in the spuds game in the cup when pavlyuchenko scored my father was like SACK HIM! and i said no it was poor defending, so i think people are harsh to judge sometimes, as fot the pens in the ucl i would say a keeper is never expected to save a penalty, a player is expected to score, so the fact that he did save it and win it for us is a massive bonus.

Good Work Edwin!

He didn't play against Spurs in the cup.

That was Foster.
