You English are such doom and Gloom merchants.
Ffs the WORST International team??? You should be happy to have
the players you have and get behind your team. Im sure the following
woul LOVE to be as 'bad' as England:
San Marino
American Samoa
Guam
Cook Islands
Anguilla
Timor-Leste
Montserrat
Papua New Guinea

Cos they are the worst teams lol

You misinterpret my thread. We are the worst because we have such GOOD players who CONSISTENTLY under perform. Name me a single player in any of those teams you refer too that can be compared? All who play for those teams do so with love, pride and honour.

Nobody expects those teams to win the World Cup, but they do have something that England do not, the will.

England are NOT a TEAM
Ok fair enough RD.....though I still think you are being harsh on your national team. Why cant you give the manager a bit of time to get his ideas across? Capello has only been in the job a few months and people are already on his back  Wait and see, but I reckon England will get to the semi's or better in the next World Cup. It takes time and it will come together. No team in World football can be consistently good over many many years (not Incl. Brazil back in the day). Its a tough job and the players do try. To suggest they dont care or try is ridiculous imo.

Are united fans hat bothered about England? Not tryin to cause an argument here club v country, but faced with a choice would u rather united win more trophies or england win a tournament?
Myself, I'd much prefer to see Liverpool win the PL or CL than England win something, as would most of our fans. Is this just us, or do you have a different view?
We had a thread on this a while back (Ill see if I can dig it up)
and most English people here said club before country, and they ALL moan
about how bad England are as well :D Im Irish myself as are a fair few on
this forum and a lot of us seem to have more pride in our country. If
Ireland can win a World Cup before I die, Ill be a VERY happy man.

They have to be, no contest.

If you consider the "potential" there, Gerrard; Lampard, Rooney, Rio etc etc and their performances - we have to have the worst international team on the planet. They are so bad they are dire. Its an embarrassment to watch.
tut tut tut, oh ye of little faith ;)

Getting into the World Cup is so much easier than winning it. It is the big-time choker type of reputation that is frightening as it seems to have some unknown powers. Just look at the All Blacks, favourite for every World Cup but have only won it once.

Then again, if Spain managed to break free from its stranglehold, perhaps England can do it too.
I wouldnt call England chokers. Id say they were more unlucky. Since 1990 they
have made a semi and about 3/4 quarter finals of major tournaments.
Thay always lose on penalties as well, which is more or less the flick of a coin at times.

You mentioned the All Blacks. There have only been 6 rugby World Cups and they
have still won one (the inaugural one) and have been unlucky in some of the rest
of them, especially as one other team has tended to come good (SA, England, Aus)

Every team is in with a chance of winning the World Cup.
Look at the recent results in South America with Brazil and Arg failing to win games,
and here in Europe, the likes of France, Czech rep and Portugal not doing great either.

In international football there is a VERY fine line between success and
failure and luck can play its part also as well as player/ref mistakes.
Imo there are about 10-12 teams that could win the next World Cup.
