Eto'o Threatens To Walk Out On Barca

Three-times African Footballer of the Year & Cameroon prolific hitman Samuel Eto'o has warned Spanish giants FC Barcelona he will seek pastures new if they fail to make an improved challenge for silverware next season.

Saturday's 0-0 goalless stalemate draw against RCD Espanyol has all but ended Barca's hopes of winning the Primera Liga title while they need to get past in-form Manchester United if they are to reach the Champions League final.

Should they fail in both those objectives then it will be a second successive season without a major trophy for the Catalan giants, and Eto'o admits he will look to leave if things do not change next season, with a different country looking his likely destination.

"At Barcelona and in Spain I have reached the top," Eto'o was quoted as saying by Spanish newspaper Marca.

"If next year we continue the same without winning titles here, I will have to go to another place because what I want is to win titles."

I think his attitude kind of stinks by saying what he did......
but if we had the possibility of signing a player of his calibre, we
would certainly have to consider it.
He has always been on my list of potential strikers along with
Berba, Benz, Villa, Hunt & Quag.....
hmmm he's good, but i doubt we would be signing him if he really left barca.
I've never really warmed to Eto'o despite his talent. I remember reading stories about him threatening other players. I don't know whether he really did that but his attitude has always put me off him.
Monkey in disguise... He's always smile and act friendly on the pitch... But he's really the pest that poison on all... If I'm not wrong, Ronaldino has some unfinish business with him as well... Hopes we don't sign him... If not I have to eat back my words...

ZZZzzz...
lost a bit of from a lately and hasn't got the best of attitudes
I seriously don't understand how can ppl says Samuel Eto'o has terrible attitude problems while ignoring the fact that Berbatov is a much worse dressing-room trouble maker, yet yearning for the latter to ply his trade at the Theatre of Dreams. Eto'o is subjected to constant racial abuse in Spain where he faces alot of racism insults aimed directly at him. Despite missing out on huge chunks of first-team games this season, he still manages to amassed a total 16 goals in 20 club appearances for Barca.

Samuel Eto'o made a huge impact on the world of football while still as a teenager. He has exceptional physical qualities and made the leap to European football at the tender age of just 16 when Real Madrid signed him up and loaning him out. At the age of 17 years and 3 months he became the youngest player at the 1998 World Cup in France and was the only player who had been born in the '80's.

During his time with Mallorca, he became the highest ever league goal scorer in the history of the club, with 54 goals. Since going to Barca, he has become a veritable goal machine, scoring 25 times in his first season and making a huge contribution to winning the championship. His goal against Levante clinched the league title ultimately. He has needed just 67 matches to reach the landmark figure of 50 goals, outstripping some of the greatest Barca legends of the past.

He has already been chosen as African Player of the Year 2004, 2005 and 2006, and picked up third place in the FIFA World Player 2005. He is a full international and one of the most outstanding players in the Cameroon team and has a huge popular following in his country. In the 2005-06 season, he was the top scorer in the La Liga with 26 goals. In the Uefa Champions League Final two seasons ago, it was Eto'o who scored Barcelona's equaliser after the Catalan giants had gone a goal down to Arsenal.

Fast, strong and direct, Samuel Eto'o boasts considerable experience, despite still only being 27. He's a committed player, whose hunger for goals never gets in the way of his desire to do the best for his team. Moreover, he is fast footed and capable of leaving his markers flailing behind him, with a strong shot and is also an experienced penalty taker. Give me a chance, I'll snap him in a sec for United if he's available anytime of the day. ;)

lol - whos' he to complain ! He is the one who is required to perfrom in order to fight for silverware... Not Laporta - but players - and damn good ones if i may add
good player but too moody it seems.....will like to see him at united......
but dunno if we will buy him..
he doesn't have the bad attitude...in fact I have heard from him nothing but stimulative speech... in his own way - but it's stimulative. He should be a leader in the club - along with Puyol. He stood by Ronaldinho when people were harrasing him - he's a great player with good attitude. I do not agree with his latest statement because it's contradictory but he said that in order to shake them up a little bit

Rd4l read my mind with that post! I think this is very good news for us and we should make a move for him asap!!
Hes is a great player. I would love to see him here but I think he will cost too much.

If we could get him for less than £15-£20m then grab him. He would be great for us, and our strike force would be fantastic.

I think you should take this back as some may find what you are suggesting is racist
I think you hve totally understood me faz. I'm only tryin' to put forward to him how could Samuel Eto'o be a monkey in disguise when they clearly look so much different just by that comparision of the two images alone. Note the cynicism from the sacarstic emoticons mate ;)
