Patrice Evra has credited Manchester United's fans for helping him find his feet in the Premiership.

"My first six months were very difficult," Evra told Manchester United Radio, "but the manager pulled me aside and told me that all the fans had been applauding me. I was concerned but he said he hadn't heard any fans say they were unhappy with me.

"That gave me lots of confidence and now I'm doing well. And that's why I think this is the best club in the world and we have the best fans in the world. Manchester United is not just a team - it's like a big family.

"In France I never played in front of fans like this. Walking out at Old Trafford is just unbelievable. It's a real privilege and I thank the Gods every day that I play for United. Every time I play I just try and respect the shirt and do my best for the club."

I have go to admit that then Evra first came to the team i really didn't rate him very highly. But now he as settled and he is showing us what he is capable of, i think that he as done enough to get onto the starting line up every week and good for him!

He holds up the back line very well, he makes mistakes like the rest of us but no one is perfect. I'm impressed with the pace that he displays too, he gets forward very often and i like to see that from someone on the back line, hence i can't wait to have Gary back at the right.

I think that this is our strongest back 4

Neville - Ferdinand - Vidic - Evra

We have got a lot of pace and the ability to lap and provide support on the flanks, and then we all know too well what Vidic can do for us in the air, and the height of Ferdinand is clearly going to give us a very high advantage in the air defending set pieces.

I'm sure that Evra will go from strength to strength with his game and he is at a club that is going to stick by him and improve all aspects of his game, and this is only going to help the player as a whole.
