Ex-Arsenal and Juventus star Liam Brady has been admitted to hospital in his home country of Ireland.
The former playmaker is currently an assistant to Giovanni Trapattoni in the Republic of Ireland set-up, and was present in the Ullevaal Stadium in Norway last night.
Brady and Trapattoni watched their side weather a Norwegian storm and claim a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw.
However, after the game, the 52-year-old Dubliner complained of feeling unwell and stated that he experienced back-pain during the game.
Brady was on the flight that carried the Irish team back to Dublin but went to Beaumont Hospital in the capital for tests this morning.
‘Chippy' is regarded as one of the all-time great Irish footballers and he enjoyed an illustrious playing career at Arsenal and in Serie A.
He won an FA Cup with the Gunners in 1979 and clinched two consecutive Serie A titles under Trapattoni with Juventus in 1981 and 1982. He lost his place in the Old Lady line-up following the arrival of Michel Platini.
Brady subsequently starred for Sampdoria, Internazionale and Ascoli before returning to London with West Ham United.
