Cesc Fabregas has played down praise and insists that he cannot be regarded as a great player.

The Spaniard has received praise from big names in the game including Barcelona manager Frank Rijkaard.

He has already scored 11 goals in 15 games this season and the departure of Thierry Henry has brought him to the forefront of Arsenal's foreign players.

Success

Sir Alex Ferguson suggested that Fabregas and other youngsters cannot be considered great players until they win trophies and the midfielder is quick to agree.

"Yeah he's right," he told the Sunday Times.

"I 100 per cent agree with him. I can't say I'm a great player. And I always say at Arsenal we're a very, very good side but not a great side.

"When we win something together as a group we can say we're great, but right now, we're just a good side."

Arsenal currently sit top of the Premier League with a game in hand over their closest rivals.

Trophies

Since joining the club in 2003 Fabregas' most memorable achievement was the FA Cup win against Manchester United in 2005.

The midfielder insists that only adding more trophies to his name will deem him a successful player.

"You've been successful when you've won trophies. When you've won European Championships, World Cups, Premier Leagues, Champions Leagues: then you can say you're a success," he said.

"Right now I can't say anything. I just have an FA Cup."

No premier league medal yet......how many does Phil Neville have again....????

2005...FA Cup......United dominate from start to finish...Ronaldo makes Gael Clichy his b*tch for 130 minutes.....
United players are rearing to go for extra time...Arsenal players are lying on the ground exhausted.....
The worst day of my life supporting Manchester United followed closely by the second leg versus AC Milan last season in the CL....

Getting beaten 4-0 at Anfield by Liverpool in the 90/91 season (I think) was worse!

The FA Cup Final defeats to Arsenal and Chelsea were bad but at least we competed and lost narrowly.

The Champions League loss last season was very disappointing but I had to admire AC Milan's quality - they were awesome that night - and at least they beat the Scousers in the final!

lol.....I was three months old.......

Against Chelsea last season I'd nearly go as far to say that no team deserved to win.....it really was shocking.....mostly due to Chelseas tactics.....

Against Arsenal...even Wenger admitted afterwards he was frustrated even though his team won...because they did not play there, to quote Hargo, "so-called beautiful" football......I knew then after the match how Bayern fans felt after CL final in 99'.....

Against AC Milan we were missing our best defender, a central defender, and our other regular central defender was just back from injury......
We were also missing any creativity we had in Scholes.....

Milan were amazing in fairness to them but I think if we had our strongest team out like they did..it would have been a totally different story....

but hey...that's life...and more importantly....that's football.......
