All hail England's heroes !

So near and yet so far !

How will everone remember the Euro 2008 campaign ?

The brave wins over Israel and Andorra ?

The plucky draw against Macedonia - where once again England showed the
world how to play the game they gave to the planet ?

Or maybe the way they had Russia on the rack in Moscow ?

But who can forget them getting so close to drawing with Croatia, oh what
heartbreak……Poor Scott Carson - just 2 more hands and another chest and he
would have saved it !

Wayne Bridge - just another 10 years and he might learn how to play someone
offside !

Steveie G - all England hails thee - Few can play so many dummies, shaping to
pass to a team mate and then completely outwitting him by passing it to the
opposition.

What a scare they give to Croatia with the fight-back. How nobly they hung on to
defeat !

It could easily have been 5 or 6 but England are more noble than that !

To think those “minnows†Israel gave England this chance by beating Russia…
…those same minnows who finished on exactly the same number of points as
England !

Can England not now be classed as minnows themselves ?

After all they only got one less point than Scotland and the same as Finland - and
both of them were in HARDER groups !

Well they are heading in the right direction.

Since I came to the UK almost everyone I know talks about my Romania like they
are second class team ! Well welcome to the real world ! We play in Euro 2008
and the minnows stay at home now !

Why did McClaren have to leave now just when everything was looking so
promising ?

No doubt one of the great football nations like Belarus or Cyprus will gain where
England have lost.

Oh, how those naughty fans booed in the stand on Wednesday night ! What did
they come to expect ?

Passion, passing, shooting - have they not moved out of the Dark Ages yet ?

Are they still to be playing a game only seen by England players in flickering black
and white film. Ridiculous !

The FA paid out 800 million pounds for the “greatest stadium in the worldâ€â€¦..they
can close the roof on it if they choose to - this will preserve the pitch - they even
managed to get that wrong too.

The pitch was a disgrace - with markings from the NFL game STILL on the ground
for God's sake !! Does nobody take care of little details that make the big
difference ?

No matter now……the great Steve has gone……..there will be plenty battering
down the door at Soho Square to take his place.

Well done Brian Barwick……….well done Lord Mawhinney…..well done Steve and
your brave men. Never have so few been so ungrateful to so few for so little.

Indeed……this was their finest hour !

Oh and a note for the ground men at Wembley - when you finished whatever
your doing today……lock the place up and throw the keys in the Thames !

Romania are a small nation just because england have not qualified for a championship that doesn't effect anything. Obviously you are proud of your team but they have never won anything so it's not exactly like you are a footballing great either is it.

They're better than England though.......

Romania qualified, England didn't...hence forth Romania are better.....:)

aswell as all the other qualifiers...

They are playing better football no doubts but that doesn't make you a better footballing nation, romania have never made the last 4 of the world cup or the european championship. England have made the euro's 2 times more than them including this one.
Also if you look at france they didn't make world up 94 and then went onto ahve great sucess, i am not saying england will do this but it has happned.

This was only a bit of fun so dont take it personal - tongue in cheek is the phrase I think :p

Romania do very well considering our boys only got $4.50, 2 sheep and 1 months supply of hay for qualifying :D

If they win the Euro 2008 they are promised a Trabant car and 25 litres of petrol too :eek:

Trouble here is the petrol lasts longer than the car ffs :eek:

The irony......what is it we say to Scousers......History......never won the premiership etc etc....

It doesn't matter how many times you have reached the finals or the world cup...(and under-performed)....

Romania have qualified for Euro 2008......England haven't.......Romania are the better team....


Now go back to the drawing board......pay some scandinavian a few million a year to manage you and let the cycle begin again......;)

You dont take prisoners I think.....

This 18 games has cost the FA a grand total of........

540,000 in appearance money for the players......

2.2 million in travel accomodation fees......

5 million in wages for McClaren......

4 million failure fees for England players.......

2.2 million for Venables......

and finally - approx 80,000 additional wages for extra staff....

A grand total of 14,100,000 pounds !!!!!! :eek: :eek:

For........................????

Come on son you need to do alot better than that, i have said they are playing better football you see to have not read that part and made up what you want to see. I also said footballing nation, we have a better historical record and have the premiership what do they have??:p

Also it's funny that you discount the scousers conisdering they are still the most successful club in britain, i don't think they would sawp the history of 5 european cups and more league titles for our 2 euros' and two less titles.

2.-Your second paragraph is pointless and strays from the point........
Romania are better right now because they qualified.......Manchester United are better than Liverpool right now because they are premiership champions......:)

ok ok I see.......

But the point I'm trying to make is that the time is now and Euro 2008 is what counts at the moment and that is why I mentioned the scousers....
Whenever we say they've never won the premiership they always come back with the same old story, we've won so many leagues, European Cups etc etc.....

Also this is a different English team to those of other years which you mentioned who performed well at championships.....

Anyway.....Romania is true to Euro 2008, the present international competition and England aren't.......so that current squad of players have to be acknowledged as being better than yours.....It may not be true but that's the way it is...

I have never said that wasn't the case, carly was implying that england might not be counted as a major footballing nation well you have to look at history to decide that not one competition and as i showed these smaller countries are classed as that for a reason. England are a better footballing nation (not the same as a team is it) than most we have a decent history and the permiership if people choose to ignore this then thats upto them.

Ok but I was talking about the current squad of players.....of course England are a greater footballing nation with a better footballing history but at this very moment in time......Romania are better.....purely because they qualified and England didn't...Simple as that...:)

I said that was true there team is better than the england team at the moment no dobuts about it. England is still a bigger footballing nation though qualifcation or not, we have 4 champions league spots only two other countries have the same.

I see that England players were booed today at their respective matches including Heskey and Gerrard - luvely jubbly!! :p
