Fergie Blasts ‘Dirty' Arsenal
http://goal.com/en/articolo.aspx?contenutoid=592427
Lenient referee Alan Wiley allowed Arsenal to get away with too many fouls in the FA Cup match with Manchester United.
That’s the verdict of United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, who is still angry with the Gunners even though his team routed them 4-0 to qualify for a quarter final against Portsmouth.
“There is one law for them and another for everyone else,” Ferguson said on the eve of United’s Champions League clash with Lyon.
Ferguson is particularly incensed by Arsenal’s treatment of winger Nani. Television pictures showed William Gallas aiming a kick at the United star in a second half confrontation.
However after reviewing footage of the incident, football authorities refused to punish the Arsenal defender retrospectively.
"The referee was not satisfied that it showed evidence of violent conduct and no action will be taken," a spokesman for the FA revealed.
That decision has annoyed the United manager. Ferguson believes that Gallas should have been sent off like team mate Emmanuel Eboue, who was dismissed after a high challenge on left back Patrice Evra.
Ferguson added: “Wiley missed a kick by Gallas at Nani and then refused to take retrospective action after seeing a video replay. I think Wiley was happy just to put a marker under it.
“Justin Hoyte had a kick at Nani off the ball and their young left-back, Traore, had a terrible tackle on Nani as well. There could have been three or four red cards.
“The ref had a hard game in the second half. There were so many things happening.”
