Fergie: Gunners can last the course
by Tom Adams, (Setanta Sports) 19 October 2007

Sir Alex Ferguson has dismissed suggestions that Arsenal's inexperience means
they cannot challenge for the title, but the Manchester United boss has pledged
that his side will chase The Gunners down with every ounce of effort.

Arsenal have started the season in stunning fashion with seven wins from their
first eight games, and are currently two points ahead of great rivals United
having played a game less.

Whilst only Kolo Toure, Jens Lehmann and Gilberto Silva have tasted Premier
League success in the past, Ferguson feels Wenger's latest crop of players do
have the ability and temperament to last the course.

Whether they will or not is, of course, yet to be seen, and Ferguson is sure his
players will not fail for lack of trying as they look to defend their crown this
season.

"It is still an open race but Arsenal have had a great start and they are the ones
we are chasing at the moment," said Ferguson.

"I know challenging for a title is a new experience for a lot of their players but
some of them have been there before and the manager has, which is a help.

"People said the same thing about us last year but we led the league for three
-quarters of the season, so I don't think it is a handicap.

"The main thing is I know we will chase them with great fervour and
determination.

"Our team is coming together now. We are getting on with the business of
winning games and hopefully we can continue to do that now."

United's next game in their bid to rein in Arsenal comes at Aston Villa on Saturday,
a tie that is being shown live on Setanta Sports 1.

Its going to make for an exciting season alright. I know as fans we want to win every game and be 12 points ahead of the rest but its not going to happen this year. I still think we will win the title but its going to be very close and very exciting. I believe there are 4 teams in the title race(the big 4), possibly 5. Its shaping up to be one of the best seasons for competitiveness in a very long time and I for one am looking forward to it.

Arsenal are going to be there all season so better get used to this idea !!

Without Van Persie they are not easy push overs !!

I see United and Arsenal pulling away a little bit with Liverpool and Chelsea fighting for 3rd and 4th.

Hopefully we beat The Arse but this will be very difficult !!

I think both united and liverpool will beat the arse so we should be ahead of them in a few weeks :)
Then you didn`t see how Arsenal plays, Liverpool may get a draw with arsenal, I think our match with Arsenal at the Emarates will be the hardest this season, If we got a point there that would count as a win.

But who knows this is football every think may happend.
