Sir Alex Ferguson today landed another prestigious managerial award and a trip
to Humber Valley Resort in Canada.

The Manchester United manager was today presented with the Newfound
Resorts LMA Managers' Performance Award for the second quarter of the 2007-0
8 season by Newfound Resorts Chief Executive John Theophilus.

The award comes as a reward for Ferguson steering United to the forefront of the
race to successfully defend their Barclays Premier League title and moving into
the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League.

In the awards, Sir Alex pipped Everton manager David Moyes into second place by
one point, with Chelsea manager Avram Grant in third position.

The Awards are run by the League Managers Association and use a unique points
scoring system which enable all 92 professional Premier League and Football
League managers to compete on equal terms.

Richard Bevan, Chief Executive of the LMA, said: "These awards are keenly
contested among our managers and take into account all the different challenges
faced by our membership irrespective of whether they operate in the Premiership
or League Two.

"Our congratulations to go Sir Alex for his success in what was once again a very
closely-contested awards."

Sir Alex said: "I am delighted to receive this award. Our results have been
testimony to the tremendous efforts of all our players and coaching staff."

errrmm... i dont think it would be right to say he's the best that ever lived, but im sure that he's among the top 10 managers in the world today, and probably is up there among some of the greatest managers in the world irrespective of when these managers managed their teams
