With our superior goal difference and ability to win matches, Sir Alex knows we aon't fall at Wigan or West Ham. He also has one eye on the UCL of course. He knows that t'was going to be Chavski or Liverpool, he hates liverpool more than Chelsea. So maybe, he did a trick in throwing the Chelsea match?? Although the team selected was good enough to win it, maybe Ferguson wanted to give Chelsea the run about and make them tired for the European final?

The type of team Chelsea are is a big strong powerful team. They'd have beaten Liverfool anyway, but for the final they would have rested players - something Ferguson doesn't want. So maybe he gave Chelsea a Carrot, with the intention of giving them the run, to boost our chances in the final?

We can win without Rooney and Ronaldo in the team, i infer here that we should rest Ronaldo for the final as well. Tevez should be able to win us games, he's got the killer touch in him. SO Tev will be fit and ready and firing for ze final..

Interesting.. make Chavski a bit tired then hit them on the counter attack in the final. lol. Barcelona got a piece of our counter attack and didn't like it at all in the Semi final. So who are Chavski to stand strong against us!?

was gonna say something very similar myself. letting teams win as a tactic is at best extreme.

he would have wanted title sewn up so could rest players for our own cup final. think about us rather than other teams

No way would Fergie want to basically throw a match to try to make a team tired.

He knows we are good enough to beat Chelsea whether they or we have rested players or not, albeit the game will be difficult.

And why would we try to throw a match when it could result in us throwing away the league, depending on other results.

Interesting read I'll give you that but in my opinion completely untrue. Had United beaten Chelsea, we would have all but won the league there and then. And being that close to a league title I seriously doubt that Fergie, or anyone else for that matter, would throw a game of such importance, or any other game. Wether it be a game in the League, Champions League, FA Cup or Carling Cup, SAF would want to win.

So basically to sum up, good imagination, but no chance!
