Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini has revealed that Arsene Wenger's side are even more determined to win the Premiership title now, for Eduardo, who has suffered a serious leg break.

The Croatian striker, who had joined the Gunners in the 2007 summer, broke his leg in Saturday's Premiership clash at Birmingham after a tackle from Martin Taylor. However, the result at the St Andrews came as a blow to the Gunners' title aspiration as they conceded the last-gasp equaliser and the 2-2 draw meant their lead at the top of the table was cut down by second-place Manchester United, who later beat Newcastle United.

"We wanted to win the title before but now we want to win it also for him," the French international is quoted as saying on the club's official website.

"He is not going to be with us for a long time, so of course we want to win it for him.

"We are still three points clear at the top but the way we have only drawn is going to be disappointing because there was an opportunity to win this game. We came back, we showed great character and I think that was the only positive thing from the game."

hmmm - i don't like the fact they'll be 200 % up for an every game from now on..

It could go either way.

I remember United wearing t-shirts saying 'For you Smudger' (or something similar) after the Carling Cup Final but watching a teammate, and friend, suffer such a horrific injury could be a major psychological blow for the Arsenal players.

I'm interested to see how they react against Aston Villa - we may be able to tell how it will shape their season depending on whether they go at Villa all guns blazing or if they have a subdued performance.

Nice and very thoughful indeed...yes remind me of smudge so much but they should really learn from us, keep it a secret untill the last day when they win it and make it a surprise like we did, i heard alan smith was surprised lol..

Anway, as thoughtful as they are, they should know that Manchester United too would want to win it for the busby babes in the 50 years...so even score there and together we will see..
