BBC Radio 5 live are asking for people to tell them who should be included in a football hall of Fame.

On Wednesday night nine footballing legends will be inducted into a special European Hall of Fame.

The nine footballing legends that are going to be inducted are

George Best
Sir Bobby Charlton
Kenny Dalglish
Kevin Keegan
Sir Matt Busby
Brian Clough
Bob Paisley
Sir Alex Ferguson
Sir Bobby Robson

If you visit the 5 live breakfast blog you can tell them who you would include in the Hall of Fame and they'll read them out on air tomorrow.

That looks a good list to me but ther's a couple of others i could add.

Stanley Matthews
Billy Wright
Bill Shankley

And of course all The Babes IMO.

Who would be on your list of 10 who should be included in the Football Hall of Fame ?

there is one player still playing who is guaranteed a place RYAN GIGGS .sadly it will take about 10 years before we all get a true perspective of how good the guy has been and of how lucky you were to see him. his greatest displays compare to george best's finest moments although he was not as consistent has besty , but his achievements belittles any other british player that i can think of amount wise.

That's a great list.
I'd say some additional candidates would be

Ryan Giggs
Alan Shearer (would have loved him in a Man Utd jersey)
Peter Schmeichel (surely one of the most decorated goal-keepers)
Ian Rush

Can't argue that the following should be in future halls of fame ..

Giggs.
Keane.
Shearer.
Schmeichel
Rush

But if you look at the original list it is people who have had a big impact
on football for the last 20,30, 40, 50 years and not just modern day players.
The list is all names that is in everybodys mind and knows what they contributed to the great game.

Thought some members might have different "greats" that deserve to be included.

I would agree with the likes of Schmeichel, Shankly, Keane, Giggs, Shearer, Stanley Mathes and Rush.

But Gordan Banks and/or Peter Schilton must be in with a shout surely.

What we need to note is this:
The Selection Panel have deliberated to select the greatest players and
managers of all time in the English game based on performance in Europe.

So some of the names people are mentioning are out the window.

Cant add many more to your list there...Jock Stein deserves a shout as someone in that link suggested.
How about Giggs and Keane also?

that is so vague...

IIRC, football IS an english game, since it was invented there...
So what is it?
-English players that played in European competitions?
-Any player that played for english teams IN european competitions?
-Any european?
-Any player that played in Europe?
