The old boys still have it in the locker. Scholes was in complete control tonight,
MOTM by miles. Giggs has been MOTM in his last couple of games.

And to think, so many fans had been knocking the pair of them in recent times

The international break has obviously been beneficial to them both, as well
as Fergie using them sparingly, but for the pair of them to be putting in world
class performances at this stage in their careers is just astonishing.

Stats:

Giggs: 788 Games - 147 Goals.
Scholes: 591 Games - 141 Goals.

Total: 1379 Games - 288 Goals.

Lets hope we see more of the same, cos they are 2 legends who deserve it.

i was starting to think twice about the long term futures of these two at the beginning of the season. so glad i didn't say much about it. they have been used sparingly, and that has been to their advantage. they have really pulled a few performances out the top drawer when we need them, and have surely shown gibson, possebon, tosic and any others vying for their position that they have a long way to go. with the vision and control they have, the mental speed starts to become more important that pace. long may the oldies continue

Unfortunately I couldn't watch yesterday nights game because of inavailability of ESPN at my place so I might have missed a brilliant performance by Scholes. I'll try and watch the game wif there is any repeat telecast.

Both of them have been brilliant with their performances this season and a lot of credit should be given to Sir Alex for using them smartly and getting the best out of the to legends.

Love the man of the match poll!!!
He was brilliant though. Hope its Scholes and Carrick against Inter.

But since Fergie seems to favor 5 in the middle for UEFA matches, anyone think its gonna be Giggs, Scholes, and Carrick in the middle? Would Scholes be as effective without another forward in front of him to spray passes to? Does that mean Rooney drops to the bench, or Berba? So many decisions for the gaffer.

I really don't think we'll go with both Giggs and Scholes for the game against Inter. We'll most probably play Park, Ronaldo, Carrick and Scholes in the middle. Rooney might also play on the right side of the midfield pretty much like last year and Berbatov as the one striker.

I'd love to see Giggs start but I don't think Fergie will take that chance. We might probably have Fletcher instead of Park or Scholes but other than that I don't see much change in the midfield.
